NEVER HAD ANYTHING MORE MAJOR THAN A TEETH CLEANING DONE! When about 3 months ago my third set of molars decided to start trying to come through my fucking jaw. I wiki'd and googled to my hearts content. I was pretty pissed to find out that this set of molars even only exists because of cavemen and their ridiculous diet of chewy meat. Apparently they needed them. Well, guess what, this is 2009 and what the fuck, why haven't we devolved from this unnecessary set of teeth which we don't even use? Who the fuck knows. Long story short, they started to grow in and cause me no pain. So I thought, well, okay, I'll just leave them there. Not breaking gum tissue, no pain, no discomfort...no problem. Fast forward to right now and I can't even close my mouth without pain. Both sides of my mouth are showing molar teeth breaking gum and they are clearly growing in crooked - and there isn't room. The skin around the newly broken teeth is white/red/puffy. It fucking hurts. What does this extraction entail? Has anyone here run into this problem before? (I can only imagine yes). I have pretty good dental insurance so the cost is not necessarily the problem...it's me being a weak, scared, pussy little gae who has never even had a filling before that is the problem. Be honest. How much does this shit hurt? What's the recovery like? What's my akin to a chipmunk gonna be? Cry 4 me.

Posts: 7299 (11/14/09 01:09 AM) Registered User Reply Quote More Recent Posts	i haven't had mine removed yet, although i was advised years ago to get it done. i'd like to get i done now - back then i was too young and pretty to risk any possible nerve damage from it so i said no. i work with a crazy lady who had hers all out in the morning, had no pain med of any sort, and went to work in the afternoon. so dumb. i'd like to laze about at home for a week, hopefully zonked out on this vicodin which sounds so nice. somehow i think my mouth would feel more roomy after having them out?

My advice get the bitches yanked out. I was supposed to do so at 17 and didn't. Don't wait. They are hard to clean, mess up your bite, and hurt. They will put you to sleep. Bloody for a couple of days. No big deal.

The pain would be unbearable right until I was ready to make an appointment and then it would go away so I wouldn't bother. I think my wisdom teeth started coming in when I was about 20 and I waited until I was 28. My teeth got all pushed around and fucked up. Basically it is as if I never had braces. Have yourself be put under and the actual procedure will be nothing. You wake up feeling numb. I thought everything was fine because the day after I had it done I wasn't really in any pain. I didn't realize it was a delayed reaction kind of pain and the day after that it was as if someone was taking a sledge hammer and beating me in the face. That only lasts a few days though and I am pretty sure your oral surgeon will prescribe you Percocet or something like that. In the long run it is well worth getting it out of the way so you aren't in needless pain and your teeth don't get all fucked up.

I had braces as a kid and before they put them on, they had my dentist pull four teeth (molars I think). I wore the stupid bracers for 2 years. The retainer, they wanted we me to wear for another year or two, but I conveniently lost it, so I maybe wore it for a couple weeks. Bottom line, I have all 4 wisdom teeth right now.. My orthodontist worked with my dentist to make room for them to come in cleanly. They came in with no pain... i just noticed one day that.. hey, I have new teefs!!! Actually, I didn't even really notice them until later. I have them though... Blame your parents for being cheap ass bitches for at least not getting a good orthodontist.

The extraction was quick, I didn't have any swelling, and I didn't need any pain meds. I was lucky. (Of course, I thought a root canal wasn't that bad, either. So I'm fine with dentist stuff in general.) I do suggest that you be very careful about what they tell you afterward -- no smoking, no using a straw, no chewing anything tough for a good long while, etc. Dry socket sounds horrible.

I had a couple of permanent teeth removed before braces and have all four wisdom teeth. Easy peasy. Get 'em pulled before they come in all crooked and do some real damage.
