Remove this ad This show used to be great because if you were annoying, lazy, gay, stupid, cocky, malnourished, ugly, or fat, you got voted out. Now all you have to do is find a stupid idol and the entire concept of the show is fucked up. The show used to punish people for not meshing well with society or not being the best at a challenge when your ass was on the line. You had to answer to people in order to get them on your side. You were held accountable for being dumb or an asshole. Now all you need to do to have power is have the camera crew lead you to an idol.

Ironic post, since most of the criticism from non fans of Survivor revolves around the fact that the castaways aren't weeded out or dying because they didn't "mesh" with the physical environment. :P

That too was lost in Amazon in favor of heavy strategy and multiple twists. That was lost in Palau in favor of everything centering around the alpha male. That too was lost in CI in favor of overall suckitude, from which it has never emerged. Samoa is just following the pattern.

Hey dumbfuck, did you ever think that the reason they aren't showing the other contestants is because they are terrible at this game? The reason they don't show Natalie for 9 days is because she is a smiling mute. She has only spoken in one episode, and if the Galu 8 weren't mentally challenged, they wouldn't have listened to her. You're telling me that Brian Heidik & Chuay Ghan wouldn't have wiped the fucking floor with Russell? It's obvious this season is about A) Russell and B) How stupid Galu is. Sorry, but Russell is the person who is playing the game closest to the core. Everyone else is three steps behind.

The so-called strategy of the Galu idoits was pretty much guaranteed to push John to vote out Laura, and after all of their other "strategic" moves, it is no wonder John decided he had had enough. You can scream about the idols all you want, but anyone out there could have gotten off their dead Galu asses and looked for idols, but Russell is the one who did, and he was rewarded for it. I don't see how that is any different than a lot of different switches they have done before on this show, just look at all of the tribe switches they have had over the years.

I've watched all the seasons too, most of them while they are airing. This is evident when morons like Parvati, Sandra, and JT get edited as "masterminds" of the game, when in reality they're repiecing the story from almost 1,000 hours of footage. Anyone who was BFF with the winner and falls before the Final 4 gets the positive edit, with rare exceptions. Anyone who campaigns against the winner or the season's hero = bad. It's so superficial and very easy to read season after season. However, this is not to say that the show is bad. I still enjoying watching it for many reasons, but just stating the show is all about luck now. If you're at pivotal moments in the game, you get the airtime. If you get lucky and win, you get a positive edit. If you do something really well or really poorly, you get airtime. What they show on the TV is absolutely no reflection of how well of a player or survivalist you are, so to say Russell is the only one playing is just flat-out dog crap, so stop.

Last week they were given a clue, came back to camp and sat on their asses while Russell sniffed it out. This week Russell was up early - WHILE EVERYBODY ELSE WAS SLEEPING - and was out looking for it. At the Reward 5 people were given the same clue. Russell went to the area where the mossy rocks were, Dave followed and started digging, Russell ran off, Dave followed and Russell lost him in the woods and came back and got the idol. Russell is the one playing hard.
