3. I'm going through all the seasons and just got done with All-Stars, and I've got to say that it is better than Unfinished Business. All but one half of a team deserved to be there versus the 5-6 teams that shouldn't have been in UB. The flight drama did almost ruin the season, but compare it to the lack of flight drama. Overall, I think that the reason UB is usually ranked so high is because compared to the seasons where most the cast comes from it's really great.

4. I've got season 12 left, but then there's also Shanghai Rush. I don't consider it an Amazing Race so I wasn't originally going to watch it, but since the first episode write-up looked good I may have to take a look-see. So the question: Should I save the best for last or finish off the "official" seasons first?

1. To be fair though it isn't that far (a Google Maps search apparently shows it's just a 6-minute walk).

2. They do seem like nice guys...but they don't have that appeal that ~transcends~ language barriers. :P

3. TAR:AS > TAR:UB in casting, yes, but ultimately TAR:AS < TAR:UB as an independent season.

4. Either works, but watching Shanghai Rush as an Amazing Race prototype (instead of being like a regular Amazing Race) always helps. :D

Featured Leg: VN01-02 (Hanoi --> Hoa Binh)

This leg...was blah. :/ There's no real way around it, except if an English-subbed version comes up or I learn Vietnamese. Bus drama was completely removed from the episode, and we didn't really see the epicness we normally get from these scenes. And the tasks weren't really that special. The code-solving Roadblock would've been awesome on paper (four numbers that will be used to solve a combination lock THAT DIFFERS FOR EVERY BASKET <333 said Roadblock taking place in an OLD CEMETERY <333), but it just came off flat and completely uneventful. And then to add to that, we get a similar situation with the stilts and the planting Detour (STILTS RE-DO <333 my random love for planting tasks ala TAR17's babushka RB <3): amazing on paper, but they just came off was dry and bland on the actual screen. And we had an extra get-water-from-a-dam-with-a-bucket task, which was regardless, but didn't even provide that much struggling (the only real struggling we got was from Mimi, but she struggles with almost everything, as to be described later <3 I mean, you know a physical task is truly bad when even the weak all-female teams aren't having too many problems). Of course, all this is under the premise that I can't understand 99% (seriously I think less than 1% of the episode was in English) of the dialogue, so that could be a main reason. And this season's #1 on my "to rewatch when it gets subtitled" list. For now though, the leg didn't have that language-transcending appeal other non-English editions had and I hope we get that next leg. PS: 2nd NEL in 2 legs <///3 2nd NEL saving the season's stars <33333 2nd NEL saving the season's stars when the last season I've watched just eliminated one of its stars <3333333333

This leg is one of those times where the tasks are completely copied from other editions, but somehow they manage to work in a way that it doesn't completely infuriate me (much like most of TARAus1 ). I mean, from start to end, it was the same situation over and over again: TAR5's Bariloche chocolate task repeat </3 chocolate task repeat complete with puking and despairing <333 all-male teams to encounter this task somehow screwing up at it both Detour choices being generic sports Detours <///3 both diving and weight-lifting Detours being actual manually-taxing tasks that aren't a one-time thing <333 a repeat of the superior Holi Roadblock <///3 a repeat of the Holi Roadblock with more painful snowballs, and less merciful kids <333 a repeat of the Holi Roadblock with everyone getting lolpwnt by the locals instead of just one Kelly & Christy-esque scenario <333 "The Amazing Fake Norge" <3 a repeat of the Rescue Detour in Zermatt <///3 a repeat of the Rescue Detour complete with a skiing portion which was vulnerable to trips and spills <3 local dish eating task repeat (it's almost always amazing, whether for the appetizing factor or the not-so-overboard gag factor) <3 Basically this leg, as much as it was underutilized in paper, delivered in practice and this was a great leg to get me pumped for the finale (unlike Shanghai Rush - still so sad ;_;).

ANTM18 Episode: 18.12 (Highlights)
K so I just realized it has been "ANTM:AS Episode" for 11 weeks. Yay for a last-update change! I don't know about y'all, but I actually enjoyed this recap? I mean, there wasn't an absurd amount of new footage (especially compared to the ANTM:AS recap, which was just all sorts of epic and literally improved my opinions on all early boots <3), but I still found myself enjoying it. Since nothing real surprising happened (unlike during the finalewhoops getting ahead of myself ), I will list down the recap segments:
-- Azmarie-Laura "will they, won't they" montages <3
-- Alisha's head/weave-tapping montage "why do women get weaves?" "do you know how many brain cells I've lost?"
-- Mariah's Native American background segment meh (srsly so bland...nice girl tho, for sure, just not meant for ANTM trainwreck-ness)
-- the "truce" between Seymone and the Brits post-PaperGate
-- Azmarie's cleaning segment
-- the entire segment where the Brits react to the Yanks recording
-- Azmarie during the entire music video week :eep
-- Sophie & Annaliese going into Fiercely British fangirl mode <3
-- Sophie & Catherine going into weird-ass ninja mode <3
-- the mock panel in Macau (no matter how many times they do panel mockeries, it's always fun ) <3 Laura doing Cutrone's stinkface properly <3
