SO he comes up to me and asks me how to pump the gas. I look at him with a blank stare and he tells me that they aren't allowed to pump gas in his native "Oregon"... wherever that is. I tell him to stick it in and tugg the thing until it unloads in my vadge the tank. Well not exactly like that... but I show him how to do it and he says that it's illegal to pump gas in Oregon. It's only full service and they have to do it for you.... ummm WTF?? Why is this? I looked it up and apparently the guidos and guidettes of Joisey don't pump their own gas either. I get it with them... cause they're retarded and all but umm... are people really that fucking stupid that they don't know how to pump gas by just looking at the instructions?? BTW. What do you call people from Oregon? Oregineans? Oregonans? Oregans? Organs?

I do have to admit that I was happy not to have to get out and pump gas when I drove through Oregon in the pouring rain a few months ago. It was windy and rainy and cold. I got to stay in my car with the heater on while some flunky filled the tank. Win for me!

I hate going back home for a visit and buying gas in NJ now. It takes forever. ETA: One good thing about it is the stations don't have to pay extra insurance because of these laws. In other states that cost gets passed on to the consumers so gas in NJ was way cheaper than neighboring states.

I mean even if you have someone do it for you, dont you watch what they are doing? it's a pretty simple thing to do really. I would LOVE to have a gas attendant in the winter time. Hate hate getting out of car and standing in the freezing cold pumping gas. I usually wait till my gas light comes on to pump because i hate doing it so much (and yeah i know that's terrible to do).

Because the local news in all 48 other states are just full of stories of people catching on fire and drinking gasoline and choking themselves with the pump hose. In other states that cost gets passed on to the consumers so gas in NJ was way cheaper than neighboring states. When I was in Oregon the gas was just as high as the rest of the country. They probably spend a decent percentage of the savings on paying the dude to pump your gas. do you have to tip these guys too? I sure as heck didn't. I'm not paying them extra for a job I am perfectly capable of doing myself. Maybe they could have the change of a dollar if I paid cash, but who pays cash for gas anymore. If you happen to live in the city of Portland you don't mind it because the mass transit is so amazingly awesome that you hardly ever use your car. If I moved there permanently I'd probably just cross the border to get gas once a month.
