I planted tomatoes, peppers, squash (yellow not thebeef), basil, zucchini, and cukes. Plus two gardens worth of annuals (one white garden, one purple garden). I cheated and bought mature tomato plants so hopefully i'll have some fruit soon. The yard looks fabulous! What are y'all planting?

Posts: 5632 04/18/10 06:50 PM Reply Quote More Recent Posts	tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers. herbs of course, but thats a year round thing. I used to do a bigger, more varied garden, but my ex got the garden in the divorce. smaller space, I'm sticking to what grows best.

I'm expanding the vegetable garden quite a bit this year. The broccoli, peas and some herbs are planted out in the yard, though most of my survival seeds are sitting under the grow lights in the house. It is still too early here for a lot of stuff to go out yet and most of the new beds are not ready quite yet.

Strawberries are sprouted but still inside. I'm only doing containers this year. Winston likes to dig and I don't want to bother with fencing. My TULIPS are all blooming! I should take pictures, but I'm tired.

Also doing tomatoes, tomatillos, onions,eggplant, cayenne peppers, bell peppers, thai peppers, corn (what the hell, figured we'd try it), blueberries and strawberries. Oh and carrots and radishes.

Posts: 5162 04/18/10 07:40 PM Guttersnipe, and a lazy slob Reply Quote More Recent Posts	i live in vt; short growing season. so in my house right now i have started: tomatoes snap peas beans asperagus peas four kinds of basil mixed peppers pepper trees spinach green onions scallions mesclun mix and various greens dill, thyme and majorum i planted flower seeds yesterday, i have a large retaining wall and a dunno, planter wall so i planted: Chinese Purple Bell Vine Asarina Angels Trumpet English Daisy phlox streaming sweet pea and vulcan mallow but i don't think any of the flowers will grow cuz i read that they are supposed to be (the seeds) planted like, a quarter of an inch deep. i did between an inch, maybe two in spots cuz i figured the rain would wash it all away. i've obviously never planted flowers before

Posts: 7171 04/18/10 07:42 PM Yes, more important than you Reply Quote More Recent Posts	can i really grow broccoli and asparagus? the thought never crossed my mind.. are they summer veggies? also, i am always out of town/out of the country when my garden starts to procduce. this summer i will be gone for two or three weeks so...let's hope the gaybor continues to water for me while i am gone. and pick of course. he usually grows eleventy billion kinds of tomatoes, which i appreciate sharing in.
