I suspect that Diddy is now doing these shows for the publicity that it brings him. The premise that he's looking for an all male hip-hop group is actually pretty ridiculous, don't you all think?

Really, out of all of these shows, has anyone been particularly successful? The rap group with Chopper and Ness and all of the others was broken up (by Diddy himself). Danity Cane has probably had their 15 minutes -- plus, they are a girl group, which seems much more plausible to me.

The last really big R&B/Hip Hop groups were Boyz 2 Men, BBD, and later of course there was N-SYNC, Backstreet Boys, etc. In fact, the last attempt to put together a manufactured boy group like this was the Pearlman guy, when he came up with "O-Town". We all know how that one ended up.
