Like the "Scud", Jennifer Esposito, best known for ongoing roles in television series Law and Order and Spin City and movies Summer of Sam and Crash, has a history of short relationships and most recently a very short marriage.

In December 2006, Esposito married Nip/Tuck actor Bradley Cooper 18 months after the pair started dating. Four months later, the marriage was over. He moved on to Cameron Diaz and Renee Zellweger while she was linked to Sex and the City actor Jason Lewis.

The New York born actress, an Italian American, and Greek Australian Philippoussis are refusing to comment on the engagement beyond him saying: "Her name is Jennifer and we met in the Hamptons. I'm very excited."

The Hamptons is of course home to some of New York's wealthiest residents. When you think of the Hamptons, you don't necessarily think of Philippoussis, a man who has faced financial hardship this past year.

In May, the tennis player admitted he'd gone through his money, was battling depression and faced having his Melbourne home repossessed.

Three months ago he took off for the US to kickstart his tennis career and, as it looks now, possibly find a bride.

Hopefully following the breakdown of his 2005 engagement to 18-year-old Miami hotel heiress Alexis Barbara, to whom he presented a $200,000 engagement ring, the Scud has found a woman happy with a smaller ring.
