She is going to appear in one of the remaining episodes in May. I guess Stella will be returning also? It should be interesting if Sarah Chalke becomes a regular in season 4. Posts: 162 (05/03/08 3:52 PM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	Has anybody rewatched to iron out the time line yet? yeah, i rewatched it. there really wasn't a timeline problem. future ted simply amalgamated events from two birthdays when telling this story. that served as some cute razzle-dazzle to push the telling of the shocking goat story to a future ep. plus they also got to toss in that sentence "robin wasn't living here on my 30th birthday." to further fuck with our heads about ted and robin. i think it was that simple...

So I think they end up keeping the goat as a pet which is why it is still around a year later for Ted's 31st brithday party. Then the question becomes why is Robin living there a year from now.

I also loved it how Barney's wingman kept having nosebleeds. Glad to see Sarah Chalke back. It was kind of awkward that they kept talking about her but she never was on the episodes.

Posts: 10348 (05/05/08 11:51 PM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	BTW I rewatched the goat ep to look at the timelines, and I guess it's a narrative error as being told by older Ted -- he thought the goat incident occured during the events of his 30th and the Barney/Robin assignation, then realized his mistake. Anything involving the goat actually took place a year later. What's critical about the 31st was that Robin "wasn't living here" then, at the time of the 31st. Whether this means she moved in with Ted over the course of the year and then left, or simply left New York whether or not she moved back in, I'm sure will be events that play out next season. That was Robin's washcloth he was eating in Ted's bathroom, right? Something's up. I think it would've been funnier if they'd used Forte as a happening guy but unable to close the deal like Barney can, as kind of a junior varsity Barney.

Yeah he said something like "wait a minute, robin wasnt living there on my 30th birthday." in response to the fact that the goat got in trouble for eating Robin's washcloth (which was in the bathroom in HIS apartment at the time). The washcloth incident made him realize he was telling the story wrong. Then he says that it happened on his 31st birthday. The implication was that Robin WAS living there on his 31st birthday (hence her washcloth being in his bathroom). It leaves us to speculate why/under what circumstances Robin will be living with Ted a year from now. That was the whole point of the goat story to begin with. To hint that at some point over the course of the next year, Robin's going to be moving in to that apartment and would be living there by the time Ted has his 31st birthday.

There's a 99% chance that the show is returning for a fourth season. CBS still hasn't given the Monday night laugher an official pick up -- which they did for the freshman sitcom The Big Bang Theory way back on February 15th -- ticking off many a comedy fan (including yours truly). Nothing against Big Bang; I love the show. But was it more deserving of an early pick up than Mother? Not to me. Anyway, I had the chance to interview How I Met Your Mother's Josh Radnor yesterday and the actor told me that the cast is definitely working on the assumption that they will be back next fall. When I asked him directly if the show will be renewed by CBS, he laughed and said, "I'm not worried, but who knows. It's television and stranger things have happened. We're doing better than we've ever done, although I kind of go to sleep when I read those Nielsen reports. I would think we are coming back. Yes, we are." That was enough for Josh, but I needed more assurances. Call me needy. I pressed for evidence that Lily, Marshall, Robin, Barney and Ted are all going to be hanging out at McLaren's with me next fall, like usual. "I'll just say this, we are filming a cliffhanger. It's not like we wrap up the series." Gallery: Josh Radnor So, don't expect Mother to be revealed with the end of this cycle, friends -- unless she's passed by and we haven't even noticed her. On the other hand, we'll see more of Sarah Chalke as Ted's current squeeze Dr. Stella, including her secretary Abby, played by Britney Spears (who, bless her heart, just doesn't get much publicity, you know?) Both Stella and Abby are on the May 12th episode. I will be severly pissed if this doesn't get renewed, but I dont' think we have to worry about anything. I can't wait until tomorrow's episode. It should be interesting to see Britney back again.
