See that's where we differ. The whole Erickson family thing sucked for me. It reminded me of 100 other crappy sitcoms, and I'd been led to believe this one was a little smarter and less drawn to that formula. Bask-ice-ball? And wasn't the 'fiance won't change her name drama' getting played out maybe 15 years ago?

I agree the whole Erickson family skit was awful. From beginning to end. And who eats that crap filled with mayo anyway?

I thought the Erickson skit was funny actually. Maybe its because I grew up in the midwest myself. It was sort of an exaggeration of how families in the area always eat huge meals with tons of fat and calories.
This was probably my favorite episode so far. |

You're probably right. She may not be their real aunt. But I still don't think she will end up being their mother either. That would be strange, calling her Aunt Robin to her own kids. And the kids should know their own mother's name.

Oh, right. She's definitely not their mother. I don't think he'll meet their mother until the last few episodes of the series (usually when you tell a story of how you met someone, the story ends when you meet them).

yah she is an aunt in the she is one of The Fathers best Freinds type of Way.
im called Uncle by a couple of my Freinds kids even thoe were not blood related. as for when he meets there mother. id say ether end of this season or near the end of the show but that gimick realy not the reason why i watch it has great cemestry the whole group does |

I agree I think the group chemistry is really great. A few of the episodes are quite simplified but I think some of the episodes really have a lot of complex story lines which is a good thing. I think it will only improve.

This show continues to crack my shit up.
I loved it how Lilly and Marshall only knew how he sprained his ankle and then how Barney only knew about his jacket. I also thought it was hilarious how they thought Robin was in his bed but then she called before she was going to wake him up. Great story this episode. |

This was the best episode of the season, I hope they aren't fooling us and Robin somehow turns out to be the mother that would kill the whole show.

The group dynamic works and the Ted character has the charm that carries the show. The one bad aspect is the Bob Saget narration...

The characters have enough weight, they don't have to focus on Ted every episode which is great. About everyone has had their own story.
