I'm fairly sure that if he hadn't scored the lowest they would have let him fight. Just a hunch.

This "twist" is probably the death of this show.

Yeah it's pretty lame that one of the people in the tournament who was undefeated doesn't get a shot at the title. And next week we have to watch Gomez
and some douche who's never been on the show?
Fantastic. |

LoL screw this show, they spend 40 minutes on a fight that basically means nothing. I'm fairly sure that if he hadn't scored the lowest they would have let him fight. Just a hunch. Reason #783 why Louie is awesome. Seriously, what was the point of this episode? It was a great, close fight--but the lame "Every Round Counts" format makes close fights a moot point. Knock-outs are great, but from a viewer's perspective, it's a lot more interesting to watch two people on an even playing field battling it out for five rounds than one guy dominating but not knocking the other guy out. As far as the cut, don't get me wrong, I'm not a doctor, so I'm not going to say that Paul's cut wasn't too deep or anything like that, but I've gotta be a conspiracy theorist on this one; my guess is Sugar Ray felt bad about cutting anyone (no pun intended), so even with Paul in last place, he wanted to give more of a reason for him leaving. Had Paul fought in any fight besides the last one, they wouldn't have disqualified him because they would want to keep the suspense of cutting it down from four to five. This show needs to be tournament style or it doesn't work. If you want to cut back on the episode order, make it a tournament of 8 rather than 16. And next week we have to watch Gomez and some douche who's never been on the show? This is far and away my biggest complaint of the season. I like Alfonso, great guy. And it's always cool to see the old contestants come back (although I wish there was a little more variety than just Alfonso seemingly every other week, Sergio at every match, and Peter Manfredo every once in a while). But all they do is pop in, say hi to Sugar Ray and the boxers and then deliver a monotone "I'm going to be fighting _________ next week so I came in to do a little training. It's going to be a good fight. You can see all the action on ESPN. Then be sure to switch to ABC to catch a brand-new episode of Pushing Daisies!" |

Then be sure to switch to ABC to catch a brand-new episode of Pushing Daisies!"Don't knock Pushing Daisies. But yeah, this format sucks, this surprise "In a very special episode, Alfonso fights some guy" is kinda stupid (as much as I like Alfonso), and having ten people is dumb. Cutting someone despite winning was an idiotic idea. I agree about just doing an 8-person tournament if you're gonna skimp, but a 16-person tournament is still ideal. It's even more of a shame because these guys are already more memorable than pretty much everyone in season 2 besides maybe K-9. Solid cast, but it sucks that they got stuck in this shitty format and we basically got cheated out of seeing them in another fight. |

There was one major fundamental flaw to the current setup of this season. With this setup, whoever was in the last fight was destined to fail. No matter who
the two were, they were going to go all out trying to outpoint each other to the next round, which would predictably end in a very close fight where the winner
would still be the loser.
I didn't mind the first episode so much when they eliminated people, but why couldn't it be 20 to 16, instead of this moronic setup they have of 16 to 10?!? And then eliminate Paul, pure idiocy. |

Quickest fight evah
Jaidon is either the best fighter this show has ever seen or he is getting awful opponents. I hope he wins the finale in a early round knockout too. Jaidonownage....the pride of Queens |

I knew Jaidon was going to win, I thought he would most likely win by a KO, but I never thought it to be less than halfway through the first round. Wow.
I'm still not set on him winning the whole thing though. If Sam beats Sakio, then yeah, Jaidon will probably win the whole thing. But if it's a Sakio/Jaidon finale, then it might be really close. |

Sugar Ray: Hey Paul, thanks for showing up at my really nice mansion. How's it feel to be eliminated from my crappy tournament despite not losing, and
being undefeated in your career, and know that you'll never aquire anything like I have right now?
Paul: Thanks for letting me, a humble boxer from Liverpool, grovel in your home. That means a lot to me. I'll go home now. Wayne, good luck in getting knocked out in the first round. |

Yeah, it's too bad they couldn't have bothered fitting both fights in the same episode and all. I guess Sakio/Sam will go the distance, then.

Nice fight, and the loser left with the most class I've ever seen from any loser in reality TV history.
Woo, finale next week. |

I don't know why but something has always rubbed me the wrong way about Sam. Maybe i'm wrong about him, but to me it always seemed like he was trying
way too hard to be nice. It came across as fake. Him jumping across the ring to hug Sakio after he lost and seeming to not care one bit, all his confessionals
praising everybody, him putting extra ice in the bath cause he wanted to get right back to training the next day. Just very over the top

I loved Sam, and I honestly thought that he won that fight. Whatever, now I have no one to fucking root for, great. Season 2 repeat. Bleh.

Awesome fight, and I'm happy with the winner.
Also nice to see the token "Fan favorite destroys some barely-known guy" third-place match follow the same pattern. <3 Sam. Despite the idiotic twist, I'd probably still put it over season 2, as at least Sam, Sakio, and Jaidon stood out more to me than anyone on S2 besides maybe K9. Grady who? |

Also nice to see the token "Fan favorite destroys some barely-known guy" third-place match follow the same pattern.Bravo was by far the fan favorite over K9. Anyways, great fight, one of the best I've ever seen in my life. Wasn't really rooting for either guy but found myself rooting for Sakio as the match went on. |
