Marilyn Milian (People's Court) rules!!! I watch her every day too and I really enjoy it more than Judge Judy because she's actually interested in
hearing the details of the case even if they have no legal relevance. Judge Judy just wants the facts and couldn't care less about the details. Milian
relishes in it, and I loooooove when she gathers all the details and then uses them to hang the idiots. Milian for the win!

I love her more too....
I love when some interesting point gets brought to Judge Judy and she just stares with a stern face or gets mad and tells them to stop....with Millian she says "Ooo and the plot thickens!" and proceeds with a smile to listen. The only thing that I don't get though which makes me kinda not love JJ/TPC as much as I did, that I learned recently, is that the producers pay the verdicts. As much as I am aware if they say "Judgement for the plaintiff in (say) $2500.00" that the producers pay it as their fee for bringing the show to TV. Am I wrong...anyone know? |

And btw I really really would love it if she was on the cast...she is a refreshing daytime TV type A personality kinda chick. She is married with kids and has
a lot of life and especially legal expertise...I think she would be an outstanding addition to the crew if BW left.
But I still have hope of my idea from the other page |

Yes, the producers pay the verdicts. That's why the losers agree to go on the show so that they don't have to pay their own debts. It is also why so
many of them say "I'm just glad it's over" when they do their hallway interviews.

Uhm no. I saw an interview with one of Judge Judy's producers a few years back and remember vividly that the only things that they pay are the travel costs, accommodation and some fixed appearance fee (about $500ish). Whichever party loses could choose to deduct the fee from the final verdict. I don't know where you heard that 'producers pay the verdict' story, but that's probably one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard. Why on earth would you bother defending your case at all? And God knows how intense and ferocious some of these people can be in this situation. Just go .. "yeah yeah .. I'm guilty, whatever, pay the verdict and let me out of here. I got plans" |

Well it is dumb but then I was also told in the same conversation that in most instances, especially TPC, cases that are picked are from actual cases pending
in small claims courts....so people might want to defend at least their reputation...thats the only thing I could think of. Like it's not completly like
people say "Hey my credit card bill is 2,000...i'm gunna pretend to sue you and you say i'm right and they'll pay". It's actual
people with cases allready pending.
If you were brought to TPC you would just let the plaintiff shit all over you and make you look like an asshole?....exactly. I doubt you would just say "Yea im an idiot, im an asshole, im a bad tenant....now pay for me" Also if it is your way then there has to be some clause that if any mention of producers paying is made during the case then the agreement is null and void...or else you would see all of these white trash people yelling out "Whatever...I don't care...I know i'm right and your dumbass is paying, so Judge Judy, go ahead" |

Who on earth did you have this 'conversation' with anyway? They wouldn't necessarily have to be as explicit as "yeah yeah I'm an idiot, guilty as charged baby!! now sign my check and let me out of here!" or even mention anything about the producers at all. They would have to just NOT defend themselves, be passive, indifferent, who gives a shit? For most of the low lives and white trash defendants, who could care less about their reputation, there would be absolutely no incentive to try and win the case at all. It would surely eliminate all the trash talking and swearing and crying on the aftershow interview. If anything, we would see most defendants laughing and breathing sighs of relief for having someone else paying what's been burdening them all this time. I'm not saying that it would always be the case, but I can imagine it being a logistical nightmare. From the producers point of view, why would you want the participants to have any excuse to be anything but totally defensive and agressively defending their cases? It just doesn't make sense. Plus, whenever Judge Judy says something like .. "get a job and pay her THE MONEY!", it would just seem like too much acting involved on her part if she doesn't really mean it. Also, what would happen when someone is suing for objects. Would the producers compensate the losing defendants with the VALUE of the object that they would have to return? |

I don't know why anyone would agree to have their case heard on tv if the show wasn't going to pay any settlement.
There is one judge show, might be Judge Alex, where the fine print rolled at the end of the credits specifically says the settlements are paid out of a pool provided by the show. |

I don't think every court show pays the verdicts and if I remember correctly, on JJ, the fine print says that the charges are paid for at the discretion of
the show.

This Spencer/Heidi segment is a lot better than I thought. Whoopi's shot at them for being dumb asses and Babs asking what they are going to do after they
can't just play famous anymore = GOLD.
I enjoyed the future election segment within it where dumb ass Spencer says "Pratt/Palin 2015." Too bad elections occur in EVEN YEARS, you dumb fuck! Then I think it was Joy that commented that if Bush could run, why not Spencer, basically calling him a stupid sack of shit and he giggles like it's a compliment. Babs also saying Spencer's dumb ass better not expect her vote <333 And to top it off, Whoopi basically looked like she was ready to slap the shit out of them for their stupid comments <333 Oh and Carboys from your profile I see that you are a pathetic sack of shit that thinks he is so fucking smart and intelligent, yet makes the most ridiculous statements and is one of the most ignorant gays I've ever encountered in my life. Judge Judy is a racist, sexist bitch, and if you can't see that, you are blind as fuck. It doesn't matter how long she's been doing it, the way she treats people in her court is disgusting. |

So you decide to attack someone based on their profile? Wow, real mature, Mary-Kate.

PAPAYOKE wrote: I was sad enough to make a note of what it said at the end of the show today. There was summat about security being used if property needs to exchange hands, then it said "Monetary awards are paid from a fund maintained by the producer." This was an old show from 2008, so things might have changed since then of course. |

Jesus, it's a TV SHOW, Judy is paid to treat people like that, people wouldn't watch if she held their hand and sympathized with everyone.... I
don't get the racist thing either, she treats everyone pretty much the same from what I have seen.......
After all her years in family court, I think she is dead on with how she deals with the dumbasses that come into her courtroom... if you don't like her, then don't watch her show |

I used to watch Judge Judy pretty regularly and she's never struck me as racist or sexist.

I loved when Spidey came out and Babs and Whoopie went for the handshake and looked so disgusted that they both went in for the hug.

RobVanStratus wrote: Listen, kid. All I took from your profile is your age. And I gave you the benefit of the doubt that your young age of 22 is the reason you have such rage at not only me now, but at Judge Judy who has been doing what she does for FOUR DECADES without ever being accused of being a racist or a sexist. So who are we going to believe? Four decades worth of people in the justice system who have dealt with her in all facets of her career or some 22 year old who likes to call people names on a message board? Hmmm? I know which side I'm picking. Have a great day...don't forget to have your diaper changed. It's obviously full. Disclaimer: There was a Judge Judy producer a couple of years ago who was accused of saying they didn't want to book any more black litigants because they didn't want to see any more ghetto fights on the show, but Judge Judy herself was never singled out as being a racist. Her producer and the show got some bad publicity for a couple of weeks and it went no where because there was no proof. |

Whoopi looked like she was about to explode any second with Speidi (Idk why they're called Speidi, it always reminds me of Spidey, the nickname for
Spiderman).. And then Joy tries to excuse Babwa's behaviour towards them by saying she was trying to be motherly. The whole thing looked like a set up to
embarrass them even further.
As for the whole judges thing, I like Judge Milian better. Judy just looks like she had enough of life and is out to get people. Milian looks like she loves her job. |
