I thought that was the worst part, along with the tree-planting, group-hugging type of stuff. Does anyone really believe that looking for inspiration or "giving back" is an integral part to being a model?

The legless swimmer was great because the kid had so much character, and such a positive outlook, and such a record of achievement, compared to the whiny ass models. (All of whom I like, BTW.)

The tree-planting was hilarious--OF COURSE the models hated it! That's what was great about it. The models were all standing around in their chicly wrapped scarves and tasteful princess-seamed coats, looking down their noses at bags of mulch, WHILE TWO OF THEM WEREN"T THERE BECAUSE THEY WERE ON JOBS (and didn't have to put up with the volunteer shit). I didn't think for a moment that Petra was trying to build character in the ones who had to plant trees because they hadn't been booked for jobs that day. She was trying to make the point that, if you manage to get booked, you don't have to endure time-wasting bullshit.
