Entertainment Weekly gave it a D, but Corey Haim was the first in a string of many obsessions I've had over the years, so I have to watch.

A few months ago I got to see and review the first episode for the network, and it was really bad. I hope they re-shot most of the scenes, because the cut I saw seemed terribly staged. The first few minutes were especially excruciating.
Haim comes off as really pathetic the entire time. He acts like his entire future hinges on a Lost Boys sequel. And I don't for once buy the friction between him and Feldman's wife. And let's hope they fix the music. In the version I saw the soundtrack was really awkward. I'll tune in just to see if the episode has improved any from the version I saw, but I doubt I will be a regular viewer. |

The thing that gets me about the Haim-Lost-boys-sequel-obsession is that the way I remember it, Lost Boys wasnt even THEIR movie. It was Keifer Sutherland's. I could be wrong but I remember the Coreys playing sort of side characters in that movie (its been at least a decade since I've seen it - probably longer). How I remember it, that just happened to be their first movie together and after that they were inseparable.
Right now Corey Haim reminds me of Johnny Drama on Entourage except not as easy to laugh at. |

maybe it was because i loved them that i think that their roles were bigger. Haim's brother is the one that changes into a vampire and he gets the Frogg Brothers(Feldman + some other guy) to help him kill the head vampire.
But when does this show start??? |

Quote: The show starts Sunday (7/29) at 10 pm. Whats funny is that I didnt see Lost Boys until after the corey's got famous. Then I remember purposely watching the movie because they were in it and feeling disappointed that they werent in it more. So I guess both of our perspectives (and memories) could be off here. |

I'm petty sure Haim was the main star.

I'm a pretty big Lost Boys fan.
Kiefer Sutherland was the head vampire. Jason Patric was the star of the movie -- the good kid with an edge who falls in love with Star (Jami Gertz) and gets lured into the underworld of Santa Barbara vampires. Corey Haim plays Jason Patric's brother. Haim's character begins to suspect his brother has turned to the "dark side" and enlists the help of the Frog brothers (Corey Feldman and Jamison Newlander) to help save his brother. Jamison Newlander also has a significant role in the premiere episode of The Two Coreys. |

Okay, I absolutely hate that I know this, but because this was my favorite movie for many years:
The Head Vampire was Max (Edward Herrman). He owned or managed the video store. You were supposed to think it was Kiefer Sutherland (David), until the big scene when Michael (Jason Patrick) is able to kill Kiefer Sutherland. By killing Kiefer, who he thought was the head vampire, he expected to become mortal again. When he didn't, Max walks in along with the mom, played by Diane Weist (sp?) and Max is able to answer all the questions about his being able to pass the vampire tests. They had invited him into the house earlier. And not to be nitpicky, but it took place in "Santa Carla." ;) If you can stand it, you should check out the commentary by Corey Haim on the dvd. He is vile as well as stupid. And he has butterteeth. I saw a preview for this show tonight. I have to at least see how bad it is, but I don't know how long I can hang in there. |

I saw a bit of an interview with the two Corey's, not sure even who was doing it, but Haim looked terrible.
Haim apparently got up to 300 or so pounds during his bad days. And yes, you can tell he was on meth bad because of his teeth/mouth. I'm not sure what exactly happens, but meth users lose their teeth or their mouth is all funny when they talk and stuff. Nasty Lost Boys was a great movie. The best scene was Billy Wirth being killed -"Death by Stereo." He was a hottie. |

I'll watch this. I suspect it will be a Haim trainwreck. The interview I saw, he was barely stable. And I agree about the crack mouth. When he spoke, he moved his mouth like he had no upper teeth. Sad but compelling - I know we all are thinking "so show us the pics of him at 300 pounds". Feldman has his shit together, speaks like an AA pro - very grounded and probably the best thing to happen to Haim.
If you haven't found sobriety by 35, your odds are slim. Haim may rank right up there with Danny, Courtney, and Jean Claude. |

I remember seeing an interview with him when he was fat- he's also broke. He and his Mom were sharing a one bedroom apt. and all he did was play video games on his fat fucking ass all day. they didn't even have much furniture. This was just a couple of years ago.

Quote: Know that you're not alone. I, too know the movie in details (saw it at least three times during the theater release, then countless times on cable and VHS thereafter), and you were correct on all counts. :) Yes, Michael *invited* Max into the house as the man of the house...Max made sure of that, therefore rendered all the vampire "repellents" useless, such as garlic. The Coreys were not the stars of the show, they were "supporting" at best...it's considered their "breakout" movie though. |

I love The Lost Boys movie! It took place in fictional "Santa Carla" and was filmed in Santa Cruz. (alot of it on the beach boardwalk!)
