Sweet! It is not nearly as good as the UK version where they show Gordo helping all of them, but I'm glad to see it back. I still smile thinking of him
in the park with that kid trying to get him to yell. That is the side of him I like the most.

That was really good. It was nice to catch up with everyone. And yes, that Indian chef was HOT.
Oh my Christ - Peter's been hitting the local Mystic Tan HARD The season previews were action packed - looks like someone gets arrested! |

i was the only one hoping for at least one restaurant failure? or at least peter getting baked to death in a tanning bed? at least the previews involve cops... |

LOVED the 2 hour premier of Gordon checking in on some of the restaurants after a year. It's great to see that so many are doing so well.
I almost got misty eyed about dad at Finn McCools who had a heart attack and the family saying that if it weren't for Gordon the place would have been shut down. Really happy to see Purnima's doing so well. The footage of the state of their restaurant before Gordon fixed it was terrible and I would think it would be hard to build new business if anyone saw how disgusting it was. That chef is very good looking and I think having him there is a major reason Purnima's has survived. I like how he will give people tours so they can see how clean the restaurant is now. I would actually consider eating there next time I'm up in NY. The previews look great for this season and I can't wait to see the circumstances surrounding the arrest of someone. It's great to see all these people being so grateful for what Ramsay did for them. I'm sure Stone Grill asshole had a hard time spitting out his thank you, but the proof is in the pudding. Gordon knows his business, so STFU and listen to him, you donkeys!!!!! |

This is a great show because it's not really about restaurants, but people. It's always great television when people come to grips with the truth about
themselves, and then work to change the problem.
But this show is much better than a Dr. Phil or Oprah. Instead of a teary, meaningless on-camera epiphany, we see a restaurant really taking off, people making money and everybody happy-happy! |

Really great update episode with effectively quick recaps and a decent amount of time spent on how they are doing today.
I was definitely rooting for a failure b/c the same story every time with people blowing smoke up Ramsey's ass didn't really get old but a shakeup would have been nice. However, surely a failure would have been spun to look like the owners didn't listen to him, did their own thing, and paid the price. Also..I have no doubt that when Ramsey initially goes to the restaurants and tastes the food, just like when he does on Hell's Kitchen with the signature dishes on Day1, that he knows the role he's supposed to play and exaggerates how shitty some of the food is. I would have killed to have him go to one of these places that turned out to be successes, tried a dish and instead of magically loving it all, said that something was horrible.. even if it was, you KNOW he wasn't going to say anything and was going to act like it was fantastic. |

I'm pretty sure that that pizza restaurant in LA failed. He was the chef/actor that refused to make any changes.

I missed it last night, but glad that hulu.com has the episode up already
I was a little disappointed that they didnt show any of the failure's and hiding them from us but then i realized that the only true failure was Sebastian's (the pizza place) and that the only other 2 that weren't mentioned had been put to rest at the end of their original episode Seascape was sold Lela's went bankrupt

I missed some of it, what was the deal with the Secret Garden? The place that looked like a grandmother's parlor?

That was a great special. I was especially happy for the Finn McCool's people You could see how much happier they all were. Brian seemed quite proud of
their success and his food. great for them. And double X to the Indian chef being hot. My friend and I both said that as soon as they did thier segment. He
remembered him from the original episode.

ahh i forgot about that one
it seems to be doing ok....they still have their website up, and decent reviews on other restaurant review sites (mainly good, the main gripe is that its overpriced) hmmm...wonder if he didn't allow the crew to come back...or if Ramsay just didn't want to give the guy anymore free advertising since he didn't seem to like the guy http://www.thesecretgardenrestaurant.com/index.html

Wasn't one of the things from the show that people figured out he changed everything back because the place was like it used to be in the background of his
talking heads

I was surprised to see that manager Mike was still at The Mixing Bowl.
And, boy, did that renew my crush on chef/owner Billy. |

Oh, also? I love that they use some of the music that they also use on Big Brother, when they're doing the recap of the previous episode, right before the
intro starts.

Is the British version of this show still airing new episodes? The last one I saw was the one about the restaurant called Morgan's.

There was another one that failed - that place run by the greek lady and her son who gave Gordon the powdered cookies. They made the changes and then the wrap
up at the end of the episode said the owners sold the place instead.
I count that as failure. |

I'd love to know what happened to that bonehead with the million flavor combinations... I think he went back to his original menu. He wanted to make
frozen pizzas and have them in all the grocery store.

Wait. So why didn't Gordo go to Peter's? Major letdown not getting to see him fuck with that douche in the Miami Vice costume. I did weep a little
during the Finn McCools segment. It's always fun to see how the restaurants are faring (although I agree a failure would have added something extra).
That was a big aspect of the UK series missing from the US one.
