Finally got to watch it - I loved it! It's over-the-top quirky and didn't feel/come across nearly as morose or bitter-deadpan as Wonderfalls or Dead Like Me, and I enjoyed those. I think a big part of it was Lee Pace. He's great. It's a superb cast overall, really.

This is an excellent show. It has a similar quirky tone to the film Amelie but it's more American. A very good pilot. I look forward to watching it and I hope it does well.

Does this remind anyone else of Dr Seuss?

I fucking LOVED it. I wasn't sure if it was going to be my cup of tea, but it turns out it's simply brilliant. Ya, it's gonna get cancelled but God knows I'll be watching until then, and buying the DVD the day it's released. Lee Pace is just as good as ever, and I agree that Anna Friel is quite the find.

The final scene was so beautiful and romantic, no?

Does no one here have the slightest bit of will power?

BTW, I'm too scared to go for 2 New Topics in 2 days, so I'm just going to post it here, especially since my Chuck thread hasn't even been acknowledged by P'ha.
Lipstick Jungle has been leaked. |

That was amazing, probably going to get canceled but a very good pilot. Loved it so much.

So I've watched the pilot about 83 times already this week
Yeah, I almost feel dumb about it - having to wait so long for the second episode now. ETA: double post to test new avi, if that's OK |

One of the strongest pilots I've ever seen, possibly only second to Twin Peaks. Only real problems I can foresee is that America doesn't buy into the quirkiness or that it becomes a repetitive "Who's murderer will the pie man find this week?"

I hated it*.
*OMG It's the best pilot ever but everything I like gets canceled so I'm hoping the network Gods only read the first line of this post. |

Shitty pilot. I'm hoping TPTB scrap this one before it airs.*

The comic book companion piece:
![]() 2 stories per issue. You read one, it ends half-way, then you flip it over and start another. |

I'm hoping someone uploads that to the inter-web.
So should this piele win the Emmy for Best Drama. I mean, it's not eligible for the upcoming awards show, but it's certainly better than the disappointing nominees. * * Not saying this is any good though, just not as shitty as the others. I certainly don't like it very much and it will therefore be very, very popular. Go ahead TV Gods, let it happen. |

Re: Pushing Daisies | ||

Just saw the pilot and a few comments. It reminds me a lot of Big Fish with the magic realism. Great quality that's clearly very unique to Television.
Kristen Chenowith is SO much smaller than Lee Pace that their scenes border on almost downright funny because of it. |
