Milch doing another cop show is Milch dialing it in and just collecting a paycheck. IF he's so "exhausted". why doesn't he just take a year
off and come back with something original? He's done enough cop shows IMO. So what if it's set in the 70's? There were enough cop shows actually
done in the 70's. Thank fuck for Showtime and F/X. I'm over it.

I guess if THE WIRE were more popular, HBO might not give the OK on another police drama. |

DumpOut Weekend: Friday August 31- Tuesday Sept 4
There are so many great ideas out there about what to do to show HBO that we want another season of JFC. So no matter what you choose to do, or where, let's all do SOMETHING between Friday August 31- Tuesday Sept 4. Postcards, teddy bears, 1's and 0's (paper, house numbers, etc.), petitions, letters, phone calls, protests, sit-ins, monad posters, fliers, billboards... whatever, all during the same period of time. And advertise what you are doing... Call your local papers and news stations and let them know about your Dumping-Out BBQ in the parking lot; your best John Monad impersonator contest, your Monad teddy bears for needy children... you get the idea... BE CREATIVE! And please, let's be visible but kind. Some things I know... Save John From Cincinnati |

These are the people who don't give a shit about Deadwood fans, do you think they'll really care about appeasing the JFC fans (all five of them)?

Egg-actly. We ran a full page ad in Variety pleading with HBfuckingO to save Deadwood...didn't work. Face it, they don't give a crap.

JFC was a waste. Better shows than this have been cancelled but were worth saving. Sheesh... bring back Rome, Carnivale, or Oz even, but not this. Please! |

He must be hitting the bottle over the cancellation..........
John from Cincinnati star Austin Nichols was arrested in Michigan on Friday morning on suspicion of drunken driving, the Austin Nichols DUI |

I finished watching the entire series two weekends ago, too -- the final three eps in pretty much one sitting.
Astounding how little sense this thing made. As much as I liked the "1's and 0's in Cass's camera" speech while John was in the fugue state, nothing else in the series held up to that kind of promise. I think Milch thought he had an original fresh idea on the place of faith in the unlikeliest of all settings, but couldn't translate the concept into something coherent. I don't think it was a waste of time. But I do think he misfired, and HBO's decision to bail out was correct. He would've strung us along with specious religious references and trippy visions until somebody made him stop. Better now than later. |
