Although I think it said Survivor had more overall viewers for the hour but Betty had more households. Even so, Betty took a huge chunk out of Survivor's ratings.

Betty had 16.1 million viewers to Survivor's 16.6 (mind you, that's down roughly a million from last week).

Quote: I am SHOCKED! Actually i'd come in to complain about how it was doomed to fail in its timeslot, with Survivor being a longtime hit (declining in ratings but still bringing in large audiences) and MNIE/Office, which have emerged as solid hits. But, WOW. Color me stunned. It will be interesting to see if this audience carries over in the weeks to come. Sounds like a lot of people here (myself included) tivo'd it and watched it later. It'd be nice to see it on, maybe Monday or Tuesday. |

Quote: This is exactly what I plan on doing. Everything that happened in the episode was extremely predictable, but for some reason the characters were enough to keep my attention. I'm really happy to see it didn't get demolished by Survivor & The Office! |

I'm SO glad that this show appears to be a hit. Rarely does a show keep me entertained from start to finish, but even with the predictible slant of the s/l, I loved it! Here's hoping that the ratings stay up.

This show is a parody.. its a dramedy and should be predictable, clownish and over the top and thankfully it is... no way would a woman despite Betty's clear ignorance of fashion would dress that well horrid when her colleagues clearly like her and would take her under her wing, her sister knows better and well her GAY nephew has fashion sense.. of course Willhemena and her gaysistant who dresses like a Cirque du Soliel clown reject are also over the top...
And of course they have Anna Wintour stashed in the basement pretending to be dead while apparently recovering from massive plastic surgery.... I mean this isn't really Vogue nor was the Devil Wears Prada... go to a fashion magazine and be suprised what you really see.. very bland for some and others not so bland. This show is fun and GAY.. like me and Papa.. thank god knew he would watch.. to make the full gay trifecta we just need FWP to weigh in... |

Glam, you do know that I've shown your picture to security and if you are within a 100 feet of my property they've been ordered to shoot you on sight, right?

I hope we see more of the Salma Hayek-telenovela bits. That practically made the show for me. When she got slapped and then the slap noise came on seconds later, I couldn't stop laughing

Ugly Betty was great. I'm so happy to see the transparent Survivor crap challenged by good writing/acting etc... Survivor will obviously continue to get the ratings, but I'm so over it. One more puzzle, one more 'alpha' male, shocking surprise..etc.. (it's old!) bring on Betty!
Outside of Amazing Race, I'll be thrilled when the reality shows start (or have started) taking dives. Bachelor, Big Brother, Elimslut...all trash. |

I saw a little during the commercials. I really like the actress, America Ferrara. She's great

I believe there is an encore for this show airing tonight on the FAMILY channel (or so says my DVR).

This is a great show but kind of a guilty pleasure you don't want to admit that you watch it but very endearing and fun.
But careful, if your dudes peep you watchin it you won't hear the end of it! |

It was kinda like watching something on the Disney family channel. All wholesome good fun. I like the actress who plays Betty, she's been really cool in other stuff.
Survivor is soooo stale at this point, anything remotely interesting can beat it. I flipped to it for a few minutes and once again some older dude was complaining about some whacky younger chick not giving him the vote the way he wanted. I think I've seen that exact conversation 4 or 5 times in every season I ever watched. I'm not interested in seeing it again. (This was following a IC comp that I swear Bobby Jon and Stephanie were in. Old, stale, dead. Even playing the race card earned them nothing.) |
