Thanks so much for the info, Blanktoe! I can't believe Manny is pregnant! That's so gross. I'm surprised that there are so many Degrassi fans that come to this board, I figured I was about the only one!
Does anyone else here totally despise Liberty? I wish she would overdose on prescription drugs so I wouldn't have to watch her redundant storylines anymore. |

Ok, while I think this show is okay...I'm 21. I can handle the stuff they talk about. But I can't imagine a kid the same age as these characters watching this. I wouldn't let my kids watch this! I think it's pretty gross that these kids are in junior high and having sex and getting pregnant. Overall, just not a good message to send to young kids.

I like Liberty, but I wish they wouldn't dork her up so much. It's funny that J.T. is starting to have dreams about her (which appropriately takes their story arcs to that next level).

Degrassi has always been about teaching Canada's youth valuable lessons about themselves and their peers.
I was traumatized after the episode where Snake found that guy had killed himself in the bathroom. Equally traumatizing was watching Joey walk across the cafeteria wearing only his trademark hat.

I wish they showed the old ones somewhere. I've read some stuff about them on the internet and when they talk about it on Degrassi:TNG. I heard that it was twenty million times more intense than the new one, which I find a little hard to believe.
When I first read the spoiler, I was totally shocked that Manny was pregnant, but then I realized that I know people younger than her who have kids! Duh. I'm still seriously grossed out that Craig had sex with her. It might take me a while to get over that. |

That was the best episode ever
Another good Degrassi episode was the one where it got out that Erica had an abortion and Liz tore into her for not keeping the baby (It was a nice twist that Liz later became a midwife and helped Spike deliver her new baby!) |

I tuned in on Friday night and it was only reruns of Marco's coming out shows. What did I miss? I am seriously glad Im not the only one with a love for Degrassi. I swear the show is an addiction. I was in absolute heaven when they showed two episodes a night at the beginning of the season. |

Jiff do you watch Degrassi on CTV or The N? I watch it on CTV, and I think we're a little ahead, but I could be wrong.
Anyway last weeks episode was focusing on cutting. Ellie's dad left on a peace-keeping mission overseas, and her mom began to fall back into alcoholism. At school Ellie and Paige were both competing for the same co-op job, and Paige was really really mean to Ellie (as usual lol). Ellie ended up getting the job, which made her happy, but her problems at home really started to effect her and she began cutting her arms. It became an obsession, and eventually Paige caught her doing it in the bathroom at school and made her get help. Even though Paige hates Ellie she cared about her, which was cool. In the sub-plot, Terri had a secret admirer, whom she thought was Toby (much to her unhappiness). It ended up being some new guy named Rick, who Terri really liked. |

I used to watch Degrassi, but got back into it this past week. What a way to start again. This was one GREAT episode. The entire time I had my hands in front of my mouth. I LOVE THIS SHOW!

I watch it on The-N so Im hoping that Im one episode behind CTV. I remember seeing a preview about the cutting episode but when I switched over on Friday it was the repeats.
I just got smart and checked out the local TV guide and Nogin website and both are focusing on past episodes. I need new Degrassi thank you very much! |

No way - I was a huge fan of both the old Degrassi and this new one, and the new one is MUCH more intense I think (although it's not as good as the original).... That's fucked-up that Manny's pregnant. I don't think she was hot at all the first two seasons, but I'd definitely stick it to her now. Way to go, Craig!.... Shows about Ellie are boring - I hope she cuts herself to death.... |
