I guess I'm in the minority but I've always liked her character, even though anybody that incompetant in real life would have been thrown out on the street by now. Haven't we all been in a relationship similar to Deb's, someone you're inexplicably drawn to despite no conceivable benefits for either of you? Granted, I hope I never date anybody who gets skinned. Rita is now the epitome of pathetic and I want her to leave the show pronto. Maybe Miguel can kill her out of revenge, and Dexter must take care of her children all by himself next season. That would be rather interesting actually. I'm not sure I'm really understanding what's going on with Batista's storyline this year. More often than not, I find it rather distracting. Is there one cop on this show that behaves ethically? Jimmy Smits definitely deserves an Emmy nomination for his work on this show this season.

So, here's what's been ruminating in my skull this morning... what about Miguel's brother? With the recent turns, I'm starting to think he's gonna come back and nail Miguel. Was thinking he was in on the whole deal, but definitely don't think so now. Or maybe he's just an afterthought now, writers could've forgotten about him. It's gonna be a lonnnnng week...

Mad Men ended weeks ago, Entourage just ended, Dexter is coming to an end soon and Amazing Race finale is next week. Only thing left is Charm School, but that'll end in a few weeks as well.

This could go about 10 different ways, they've done a great job of writing this season. And seriously, both Jimmy Smits and MCH deserve Emmys for this season. That episode should be the one they submit.

I am deeply in love with Jimmy Smits and he is another actor who gets ignored because he is handsome, brown and usually plays nice people. Well that show Cuba or whatever but it sucked, this role is by far more interesting and nuanced. LaGuerta actually became interesting this season when I thought she was going lesbo.. but let's see this one play out. Perhaps they could keep Jimmy as a sort of a Hannibal Lechter where he is caught they visit him frequently and he says insane things and no one believes him.. The sister annoys me more than Rita frankly..... Rita is like a lot of women I know and therefore hate. So I just tune her out. Someone has to fuck serial killers better her than me I say. And wait til Dexter becomes "daddy dearest".. And more crazy Asian guy and the other dude who is a hoarse whisperer.. shit the influence of that fucking David Caruso on cop shows.. but I kind of like him... I think he is a pro on the side.. I would pay for that.. I already do but I am always looking for new meat.

They do a fucking 5 minute season recap every.fucking.time. Not a simple last epi recap, which would be ok. The WHOLE FUCKING SEASON. Then the show ends about 10 minutes of every damn time. WTF? How about at least 50-55 minutes of show each time, fuckers?

If they leave us with a cliffhanger I'm going to be pissed. I'm also wondering what Angel's storyline is all about. Planting seeds for future seasons? Expanding the cast so MCH doesn't have to be in every scene? The showdown on the roof was epic... Dexter completely calm, especially when he just dropped the pretense and openly told Miguel how he now saw him. I don't see Miguel as a particularly brilliant predator just an extremely dangerous one who's overconfidence in his own power is of course his biggest weakness. Now for my last attempt at wild speculation (since the Miguel/Ellen hook up was a total bust) - I'm gonna wildly speculate that the skinner did not grab Dex at the end and that it was an abduction for the bachelor party. It's just a little too neat with King getting the orders from Prado and then bam! next thing that happens is Dex getting grabbed. And they did spend an awful lot of time on Masuka's planning during the episode. For those who don't like Rita, this could be a good thing if the Skinner eventually shows up to find her wondering where the hell Dexter is outside his apartment. Could go either way, I just think if Dex is caught by King he's somewhat neutered until LaGuerta or Deb finds him.

I still hold out that there was something romantic in the past between Miguel and Ellen, which could be one of the reasons he apparently so pathologically hated her. Could also be why he kept the ring as a trophy. Loved the ep, but Miguel is still bugging me. It's almost as if he knew Dexter was the real Bay Harbor Butcher in advance of Freebo's killing in order for all this to have worked out. Plus I hate seeing Dex lose a friend. It makes me feel all Lila about his loneliness, only without the sex and psychotic attempts to kill Doakes and Rita's children and so forth. Dammit there are a kaleidoscope of permutations as to how this season ends.

I can't wait to see how Dexter deals with Miguel. I agree about the cliffhanger. That would stink to wait to see how everything is resolved. Dexter probably is being kidnapped for his party. I'm sure they called to distract him while kidnapping him. Plus, you know Dexter would try to get out of going so they probably thought they had to do it that way. Good call Mikeonfilm.

I don't think those Masuka scenes were fillers, there was definitely a small purpose to them instead of just comedic relief....
