I was calling her Giada Bighead but I am now calling her Giada Pufnstuf in honor of her father.

That's too bad, too.
He could have been one snarky bastard if given the chance. |

That's who I was thinking of. Thanks.
These people think they're just going to get away with saying that they were assigned to do the salad, but they need to be more pro-active and say something like I need more stuff to do, because they're going to know it didn't take 6 hours to make a salad. |

I'm sorry to lose Vivienne--they could have put on her show at 3 a.m. and I'd still TIVO it and probably watch each episode twice. Sure, her food would probably be as bad as Screeeechel's, but her accent, fractured English, and glamour would make it worth tuning in. And--admit it--she would be great fodder for Sucks--we'd all be posting every day!

I posted this before but I guess it did not go through...
Anyway, I saw the Next Food Network Star last night and was HOOKED!! LOVED IT. But I was SHOCKED to see Rory S. on there. I grew up with Rory in a sub-burb of NJ not far from NYC. She is not the cow girl hillbilly that someone else said. Her growing up was nothing like shown on TV. Crazy!! I am rooting for her since I grew up with her. Not to mention that she owned a restaurant in NJ that had that most amazing creole food outside of Lousianna. So I am rooting for her. She has a great personality- even if she did screw up the first two challanges. I have faith in her. If she doesnt make it, I am rooting for Tommy. He had me cracking up. I love him and his eyebrows. HA! I cannot wait until next week. Bring on the chefs! |

^Yeah. I forgot to say in my mini-review of the ep that Tommy has eyebrows that are more sculpted than any of the female contestants.
I'd still do him, but wouldn't admit to it afterwards, and would make him sign a confidentiality agreement, so he couldn't tell anyone, with that big mouth of his. FNJ15, what town did Rory (the discount Toni Collette) have her Creole restaurant? |

Rory's restaurant was in Hillsdale NJ. Called Bourbon Street. I know that it was sold about a year ago. But they really did have great food. The place was pretty well known.

FNJ15, some of us here know that Rory is not the redneck hillbilly Texan that they're trying to pass her off as. As stated earlier that she was on a CMT reality show called Popularity contest that sent 10 city slickers to a small town in texas. It sounds like Rory stayed in that town after filming finished.
For those who watched Popularity Contest, was Rory the winner? I forgot, it seems so long ago. |

Rory took 2nd I think. (It was discussed earlier in the thread)
My hubby was trying to figure out why they kept Rory and we came up with she does have somewhat better of a personality than the two that left. Either that or they are counting on the HUGE Popularity Contest fan base to make her a star on Food Network! |

Does anyone know what kind of money they get from their 6 episode deal? I am really curious.

I like these chef shows with the food, and I really wanted to have some of that salad the yoga chef made. Sad that Miss Brazil had to go, because I was looking forward to what recipes she might come up with later, and she was lovely. I'm hoping the salad recipes are up at the web site.

Looks like next week they're going to go Hell's Kitchen style.
Which I can understand to spice up the show but the format seem difficult as it is in the last two. |

Most of the wedding cakes were just horrible. I hated Vivien's and the one that was supposed to look like the sunrise or something, (Rory?) with mountains of frosting. I am liking Paul and Adrian, Paul has the cocksucker lips going on. I didn't care much for Vivien as she reminded me of Janice Dickinson.

To summate: Vivien and Patrick not fuckable enough, Colombe and Rory are.

Ohhh, I thought Vivien was pretty darned attractive--do any of the straight guys here think so?
I do think Colombe is gloriously beautiful in a way rarely seen on reality TV. |

And Vincent from Project Runway who constantly said of his own designs "this gets me off".
Edited 6/10 to add: Bump for tonight! |
