I just caugth the pilot which aired on MTV (anyone know why?). I had no idea what show it was at first, but it drew me in. I agree about some of the contrivances in the plot though. Are we really to believe that a girl as attractive as Kristen Bell would really be an outcast at her high school?
The acting was decent, and the dialogue witty, though. It probably won't last, though. |

I watched the first two episodes and find so many things about the show to be totally implausible.
My main problem with the show is that it's just too hard to believe that the Veronica Mars' character could go through so much (i.e., best friend dies, dad loses job as sherrif, mom ditches family, family loses social status in town, Veronica goes from super popular to school pariah, Veronica is drugged and raped...and so on) and still be this upbeat, well-balanced person. It totally makes no sense. You'd think she and her dad would have just left town to start their lives anew elsehwhere. |

I like the program. Contrived or not, it's better than nothing at 8 pm. on Tuesday.
And I can see a group of bratty teens dumping the popular guys dropped girlfriend. She only got into the group with him. Once her ticket in was revoked, she was out. I love that Paris Hilton was given the same treatment last night. |

I enjoyed the premiere more, last night I found myself looking at the clock to see when the episode would be done. I will continue watching this show, though. I hope it lasts.

I didn't like last night's episode as much as the pilot either. I tuned out and watched Dallas on DVD instead.

Upon the recommendations I read in this thread I downloaded the first two episodes. I have to say - this show is good! And thank you to those on sucks who gave the glowing reviews.
This show is so so good in fact - that I have simply written on the first two VCDs 'VERONICA MARS 1, VERONICA MARS 2...' because a show this good will never last on American televison. Therefore no 1x1 or 1x2 is not needed. Here's to hoping I get to VERONICA MARS 5. |

^ Meh... I should number my CDs that way (1X1, 1X2, etc.) Instead I have "S1" before the title and "Episode 01-02" at the bottom.

I watched the last two episodes today and im getting hooked. Its kinda reminds me of an old Nickeloden Show that got kicked in the groin. Tonights plot twist was very surprising didn't see it coming, also the stuff with the pill was good.

It's so obvious the guidance counsler and Veronicas dad will hook up.
I got kinda confused last night..Is that boy adopted or something? I thought only his dad was out of the picture, but then at the end he said that lady was his mom. So..Um..? |

she wasn't a lady she was a man baby.
I at one point he was talking about his real mom to his "sex-changed dad" and it sounded like he was calling her mom. Yeah the counselor/dad thing was very obvious. |

If you're not lying, why would the address still be under John Smith, and not whatever woman name he changed to. Unless that mans name was John Smith too..But that's too coincidental. |

No im not lying his dad really did have a sex change! How did you miss that! Best part of the show!
However you bring up a good point he would probably have his name legally changed but maybe he/she is just using two names. |

I had to tape it cause I was at work when it aired..I even rewound that part and watched it twice cause I couldn't understand what the kid was saying. At first I thought he said "you're a mormon" then the second time I still couldn't understand him, so I stopped trying. But now I wanna go back and watch it again.

saw a repeat of the one show I had seen before on MTV yesterday then, watched last nights.
Oh, yes, the woman renting the DVDs is his dad; who is the man she's living with? Had to rewind and put on the closed caption to see what he said to the "woman" At the end; boy called his "dad" and seems like he wants to remain in touch. Show looks promising. |

Okay this show just red flagged itself. Once Paula Marshall appears she is equivalent of Ted McGinley and the inevitable cancelling.
Those two both appeared on SportsNight and bye bye..... so I have a sneaking suspicion she is going to be added as the love interest for dad and well that is the death knell. That broad has killed many a show. |

Great episode tonight. I think I figured a couple of things out...Lily was banging the biker guy, mom found out, and mom bashed her skull in. Case closed?
I no longer suspect dad in any wrong doing. And maybe this is why mom is so hip on keeping the son on anti depressants. |
