I just watched the latest ep -- nice spin on the local ghost story setup. "How do we kill an idea?"
A thoughtful, fresh storyline. I liked it. Anybody still sticking with it after the hiatus? Oh, and what was the powder smartass brother put in geeky bother's shorts? I could use a packet of that. |

I forgot to set the DVR so I missed last weeks epi. I'll be watching from now on though.

Just in case I'm not the only one watching, awesome ep on Thursday.
This show is hitting its stride. Only problem -- what was up with the motel room? From the exterior door, it looked like a dive. Once inside, it's $1000/night territory from the pages of Travel & Leisure. |

I thought it was a great epi too. Even if the story's not good, the Dean and Sam are both hotties.

And they without fail attract stunning chicks. I love how the SN producers cast classically beautiful babes -- no cheapo silicon & bottle blondes to be seen.
The art dealer sidekick last ep, Sam's dead girlfriend (and her nurse outfit!), Dean's ex, and so on. Anybody know if there's a second season in the offing? I worry what will happen when daddy catches his Moby Dick demon, but this show deserves a shot at trying. |

I loved the last epi. The vampires were one of my favorite monster types of the season. I like the mythology they used for them too. I hope we get more of them in season 2.

Re: SUPERNATURAL | ||
Quote: Unfortunately there won't be a season 2. The next 2 episodes will be the series finale since the WB is merging with the UPN network, and they don't have any line-up which includes Supernatural. The producers decided to film the last episodes with the father so they could end the show together as a family as they finally destroy the demon that killed their mom. The dad dies and supposedly the sons drive off leaving it open for a possible return on another network. |

I missed the last 20 minutes of the show last night. Can anyone give me a summary?

That's crap. I don't buy that for one second. I'll need some proof before I start my angry letter writing.

I keep forgetting to watch. I hate when they move a perfectly good television show. Although, I'd miss it due to Veronica Mars, anyway.
I want Dean to move next door, and mow his grass everyday shirtless. |

I hope that is not true. I would hate to see this show go.

Crap ... nice spoiler space on the series finale up there. I thought that they hadn't announced a formal line-up for the CW anyway - plus, isn't this one of the few hits of the season on either network?

Re: SUPERNATURAL | ||

yeah, asshole, thanks for spoiling the show.
Although I'd heard this show was a safe bet for return, so I hope that's just speculation or misinformation. although I don't love this show, i enjoy it and have watched all the episodes to date. I think it's getting a bit snarkier and although I find it more funny than scary, the supernatural stuff is a lot of fun. The show a few weeks ago with the Ghostbusters and the urban legends website had some great stuff. The last episode made it look like a couple of the female vampires survived, so if the show is renewed they might bring them back. Next week we get the blonde Meg Ryan-ish witch demon person. She's annoying and needs to be destroyed. |

Re: SUPERNATURAL | ||

I agree about it being more in the "funny rather than truly scary" vein - except for the opening sequence of the series, that scared me. There have been a few moments that have made me jump since then, but nothing really scary. It reminds me of when my sister used to watch "Are You Afraid of the Dark?", but for slightly older kids.
I wouldn't be heartbroken if the show went off the air - not like if they don't pick up Veronica Mars - but I would miss it. |

The only thing worse than asshole noobs who post spoilers are asshole noobs who post fake spoilers.
I just googled the bejesus out of Supernatural's renewal and nobody knows for certain -- no official announcement has been made. However, the commentators unanimously predict that things are looking good and almost a sure thing. I liked the vampires ep, despite having to cope with departures from the Buffyverse. The Sam vs. Daddy antagonism is annoying as hell -- conflict for the sheer sake of conflict. One hopes this crap has been put to rest. I bet the lone rider who first had the Colt reappears as a baddie. Mysterious disappearances are not good things on this show. This show's consistently good, and sometimes great. It deserves a sophomore season. |

Re: SUPERNATURAL | ||
Quote: That didn't bother me much, since the vamps from Buffy also depart from accepted lore (being able to stay awake during the day, having weird faces, etc.). I didn't like that they could actually be out and about during the day or that a stake through the heart didn't do anything - if they are going to be vamps, shouldn't they at least have to conform to some of the rules of vampirism - other than bloodsucking? That's the same problem that I had with Van Helsing - there were too many departures from the rules. Plus, in Van Helsing, they didn't even follow the rules that they set up in the movie - which is a whole other discussion. |
