Is anyone else looking forward to this show? Supposedly it's so good it's bound to be cancelled (as are most well written FOX comedies).

Wasn't as funny as the critics made it out to be. Will probably get better.
It felt like the commercial previews ended up being the whole first episode. There wasn't much of a surprise since the bits of unseen footage didn't add much. |

Was this show's pilot originally pitched to cable like "Action"? I noticed a lot of bleeps.
I liked it. I'm not a Jason Bateman fan, but he fits like a glove here. And is it just me or did Jeffrey Tambor look just like Larry David here? |

Second episode was a bit disappointing. I'll give it one more week of my attention.

The funniest thing about this show is the tension between George Michael (I love that name!) and Maybe. Otherwise, its ok.

OMG. Best new show of the season. Not even close.
If you like twisted, sick, sadochistic humor, this show is for you. Definitely setting Tivo for this one. Oh, can you tell that I sort of liked it? |

I thought I'd like it more than I did. It's sort of a poor man's version of a Christopher Guest "mockumentary".

Job, the magician, is a GREAT character. At the end of the second show, when he threw the rabbit into the ocean? When the prison guards give him the cattle prod?
Totally excellent show! Try it again - Liza's got a bit part for the next couple episodes. Problem is, the cast is so large, it's difficult to work them all in during a half hour show. |

Love this show!
Unfortunately, I think most people are too stupid to get the humor. |

Apparently, the band "Arrested Development" is suing Fox for using the name...
Because, ya know, they've released a single in the PAST 10 YEARS! |

I thought it was a very funny show.
I DO tend to like sadistic, twisted shows though....sounds like it's going to get picked up for a second season. Yeah!! |

Watched the Tivo of Sunday night's episode.
I agree with the earlier poster who said that it's much too smart a television show for the average TV viewer. To me, it's not even close as to whether this is the best new comedy of the season - it most definitely is. You watch - the way they developed the Porta de Rossi character (BTW, one of the most beautiful women on TV, and, yes, I know that she plays for the other team, but still, DAMN) to be the spoiled little rich bitch socialite. You wait - 2nd half there will be a sex tape scandal involving the character. I think Jeffrey Tambor looks kind of sickly having lost that weight. His face looks drawn out and thin. He looks like he's aged maybe 20 years. Maybe it's just that he shaved his moustache - don't know. Also, to respond to the earlier post - it is like the great short-lived Jay Mohr/Ileana Douglas sitcom "Action" in that the swearing exists but is bleeped out - in Action, it wasn't bleeped but digitally blurred, both in sound and the little digital boxes on the mouth so you couldn't "see" what the word was. The way the characters are developing, it's as if Bob Newhart took one of his sitcoms and dropped acid. Recall that in the Bob Newhart Show and in Newhart, Bob was the only sane one - everyone else had quirks. The only ones who came close to being normal were the wives, with Suzanne Pleshette being mostly normal and the late Mary Frann being normal one episode then completely out there the next, which was great. And to complete the little circle, Bob's last foray into sitcoms was that one where he and Judd Hirsch played the in-laws to the young parents, and I believe that the son in that show was none other than Jason Bateman. |

I think this show is hilarious, all the characters are great. I think I've laughed out loud at every line Jeffrey Tambor's character has uttered on this show. I just wish the show was an hour long. The half hour goes by way too fast.
Portia de Rossi.....hot...hot....hot. I am okay with her bringing a friend to the action. |

Quote: Totally agree. And Jeffrey Tambor....how about when he was telling Job that he was in a "rush" to see which gang he was going to join and that he had to get ready for the ball. Priceless. As for Porta de Rossi, rent the movie Sirens. She's naked. Woo hoo! |
