Unfortunately, I'm too cheap for even this. Sorry Franklin Bluth boy! But I'm glad at least one suckster got to take advantage of it.

If it is Cera he'd be a fool to not do it. He's not THAT big. This show gave him the break.

It's not Cera. I forgot to post earlier.....it's totally Portia. She's the only cast member not involved with that upcoming Arrested Development
documentary.

My brother has never even seen this show so I just found the perfect Christmas gift. If he hates it then he can give them all to ME.

I don't think he'll hate it. Did you notice that there are 409 amazon reviews, and it still has FIVE stars? That's pretty amazing.

Portia? Won't her husband let her work now?

Plot rumours: also a hint to the holdout. Looks like it WAS the most obvious candidate:

It would make no sense if Portia held out, its not like she is doing anything.
I'd love it if Maeby got a big role in the movie, always thought she was the most underused character on the show. |

She was. Maeby's movie studio job was one of my all-time favourite storylines. I loved whenever they went there and how well she covered it. GM spotitng
her driving a car while he was in the school bus is

If it is Michael Cera who is the holdout, he better fire his people for giving him bad advice, because not doing this movie would be an extremely dimwitted
thing to do. He should take what he can get and not bite the hand that feeds him. A.D. gave him his break & start and he should honor that, especially
since A.D. is such a great show. It's not like he is being asked to do a movie version of something embarassing like Scooby Doo or some career-killing
thing. Also, his niche is playing a nerdy geeky kid and how long can that career last? He better talk to someone like Jason Biggs or some other "geek
actor" who burned bright and then fizzled away to abscurity.
That said, I REALLY can't wait for the movie to come out. I know we won't be disappointed. |

I really hope that's just standard contract negotiation stuff when they say "holdout" because the kid would be an idiot to be the only cast
member to NOT do this film. It will probably end up being some sort of cult classic. He is NOT a movie star by any stretch of the imagination. Sheesh.

Can't the lawyers make Cera do the movie since he's played the role of George Michael Bluth in every.fucking.project. he's been involved in since
the show ended?

Umm... if Cera doesn't wanna do the movie, can't they just hire some other actor?
I mean it'd be not as good, but still..... *shrugs* I'm not exactly looking forward to this movie because of him or his character. I wouldn't even mind at all even if his character is not in the movie. They could just say he's gone off to some college or something. |

I loved George Michael and all...but I wouldn't be sad if he wasn't in the AD movie at all.

George Michael was the moral compass for Michael and the most innocent of all the Bluth clan, but for one freakin' movie we can send him to college, might
be some good character development for Michael to not have his son around, let him loose so to speak...

So far, plans for a film spinoff of the late Fox television comedy "Arrested Development" are living up to that show's title. Mitchell Hurwitz, the creator of the rapid-fire family satire that ended its run in 2006, told the Web site Fancast.com that a deal was in place with Fox Searchlight to create a movie based on the show, but that he would not begin writing a script until its cast was confirmed. During its three-season run, "Arrested Development" starred Jason Bateman as the central member of a highly dysfunctional family that also included Jeffrey Tambor, Will Arnett and Michael Cera, the star of "Superbad" and "Juno." Asked if Mr. Cera and Mr. Arnett were the remaining members of the television cast who had not yet signed on for the movie, Mr. Hurwitz said, "I will say that Will Arnett is gung-ho, so there's a big clue!" He added that the movie might pick up where the show left off, or could be a prequel. damn him!

I want the whole cast to return, but GM is the character I'd miss the least. He was never a favorite of mine, but I didn't mind him.
And I wouldn't exactly say that Cera is a NOBODY. Superbad was a huge hit and Juno received wide critical acclaim, and that Nick & Nora movie made a pretty good chunk of change too. I, too, think Cera would be a moron not to do Arrested Development, but he's building a pretty good profile for himself right now. |
