I got 15 minutes in before I changed it to a rerun of Wife Swap. This show sucks and it's a waste of great talent - Anthony whats-his-name was brilliant
in the Shield. Here he was a stereotype.

....and if you want to be sure it sux-it is being reran tonight too.
* i could see this w/b shit-and turned on ANYTHING but that show for the timeslot. imo: anthony anderson=DISORDERLIES...the only title of 'actor' he deserves is if the word 'bad/worst' preceeds it. |

You obviously haven't seen seasons 3-5 of THE SHIELD. Anthony Anderson is a brilliant actor. I thought the pilot had too much going on. It's like they had to hit you with all aspects of Life after Katrina all in one episode. The "action procedural" spin will probably cripple the dramatic potential of a show set in post-Katrina New Orleans and paired with PRISON BREAK, which is plot-driven to the point of unbelievability (not unlike its partner-in-crime, 24), this show probably won't last long. Last night's episode reaffirmed that some subject matter and show concepts are better left to cable TV. |

didn't think it was completely horrible but certainly wasn't great....seeing as it appears to be on at the same time as Heroes I'll never watch
it at it's regular time and if I ever went through the trouble of recording it I doubt I'd ever make time to watch it...

The season opener of "Deal or No Deal" scored a 7.5/12 for NBC at 8 p.m. "Prison Break" began its third season on FOX with a 4.9/8. Repeats of "How I Met Your Mother" and "Old Christine" averaged 4.0/7 for CBS. ABC went with a "Wife Swap" repeat. A pair of "Everybody Hates Chris" reruns drew a 1.2/2 on The CW.I'm actually shocked. |

The subject alone was bound to draw viewers. It's next week I'm more interested in.

I agree with JRobbed. The subject matter, combined with the fact that it's the first premiere of the new season, probably drew in a lot of viewers.
The question is -- will they tune in again next week? |

I'm going to tune in for a bit see how it goes.. I was kinda of shocked that the partner was a convict. Wasn't expecting that at all.. and which leads
me to believe lots of drama around that .. not sure how that could ever work out.

Oh, and let's not forget...next week it's going up against Heroes.

You obviously haven't seen seasons 3-5 of THE SHIELD. Anthony Anderson is a brilliant actor. He always gets typecast at the goofy black guy/comedy relief in movies, basically playing the same character all the way from Urban Legends Final Cut to Transformers. And then I saw the Shield and he was scary amazing. The guy has talent. It's too bad he gets stereotyped as a certain type of actor. |

guess one of these days i will have to find 'the shield' to check it out.
but my opinion still stands from what i've seen him in. |

You should definitely check it out. THE SHIELD is a great show and prior to seeing Anderson in it, I thought he was just another actor who on his best day
could only be a goofy sidekick. He made quite the formidable villain in THE SHIELD, and I think if the writing were up to par, he could do great work on
K-VILLE (if it sticks around).
Another thing I didn't care for was that there didn't seem to be enough local color (granted, a lot of New Orleans' residents are gone). I think on a better network, attention and care would have been given to such details (not unlike the way one gets a real sense of inner-city Baltimore from THE WIRE). K-VILLE looked like it could've come straight out of Dallas or Atlanta. |

i watched it last night and wasn't completely disappointed...will have to watch next week to see if I really want to see the whole season, if it sticks
around. the only issue i have with the show as of right now, is the fact that the white guy was convict....i just don't see how that is possible to be a
cop. are the records that messed up down there? and even if they are...wouldn't they be back-up on a hard drive that the like the government would have.
and when you are newbie cop you don't automatically go straight to being a detective....sometimes I hate the fact that my brother in law is cop...he takes
all the fun out of shows

hmmm...the second episode of this show aired last night and the fact that this thread is on page three with no posts in almost a week doesn't fair well for
it I guess.....
for the record, episode two wasn't too bad.....but I can't say I'm counting the minutes until episode three.. |

I just noticed that earlier on this page I said I wouldn't watch it live again.....oops....
in my defense my father-in-law is visiting and doen't watch Heroes so I taped Heroes and watch it after he went to bed....and so it was either K-ville or the charlie sheen show..... |

I went with Heroes and the boyfriend went with Charlie Sheen. I don't know how they expect it to survive in that time slot. I wanted to watch it but I'm going with Heroes first. I know they re-ran last weeks episode the next day, but I don't see anywhere that they will be re-running this episode. |

not a bad episode last night....I still don't know how i feel about it though. nothing seems believable and it's a little stretched. But I will mostly
watch it again not week, as I am the only person in America that does not watch Heros!

it wasn't very good...maybe they'll cancel it so I stop watching?.... |

How long are they going to play the New Orleans flood angle? Does every storyline have to revolve around rebuilding?
