Watched the first season last summer when it was airing in the UK, and then again in the spring with a friend. I'd say it's actually funnier the second time around as a lot of the darker material becomes more manageable (and laugh out loud funny) on repeat viewings.

January 14
In the second-season premiere, Andy is irked by the evolution of his sitcom and Orlando Bloom brags about his good looks to a dubious Maggie. January 21 Andy tries to lift his spirits after a number of bad reviews, but instead learns a humiliating side of fame when he meets David Bowie at a club. January 28 Andy's hounded by bad publicity after a faux pas at a restaurant; Daniel Radcliffe tries to shed his innocent “Harry Potter” image on a movie set by making lascivious remarks to women. Diana Rigg appears as herself. |

I know I'm late to the whole thing, but I missed it the first time around, and I was sick this weekend looking for something to watch, and I went to HBO on Demand and watched the whole season on Sunday, and I laughed so hard I thought I was going to cry, the only episode that didn't have me rolling with the Patrick Kemp one, but I think I just didn't get the jokes.
So funny. |

"Ooo, look at me, I make art house movies. Ooo Ive got scissors for hands. Willie Wonka. Johnny Wanker."
Possibly Orlando's best role. The best lines went to the obnoxious actress though. "Well, does she have to be good looking?" And any sitcom that features the line "'Gay'. Yeah, I forgot. Youre not meant to say 'queer' are ya. Suggest something absormal. What could be more normal than shoving your cock up a bloke's ass? If God had wanted cock up an ass, he wouldnt have given us beaver" is off to a good start |

Did anyone see tonight? SOOO funny at the end with David Bowie, and I actually felt kind of bad laughing at the start with the sitcom scene, I sorta found it slightly funny, in a trainwreck sort of way.

I'm glad Merchant is more involved this year. Him haggeling for his cut of Barry's gutter job was great.
I also love Maggie's accent, I can't understand half of what she says without backing it up, but I could listen to her mush mouthed British accent all day. |

I saw Maggie on an episode of "Ugly Betty" a few weeks back. I never watch Ugly Betty, but had switched to it during a commercial and there she was!

I'm not a Bowie fan by any means - Major Tom, China Girl, Let's Dance - a load of rubbish but the Pug Nosed Man song is a hit. I too have been singing it since I saw the episode. Its even better on the second viewing.

Quote: X --- absolutely HILARIOUS. For anyone with OnDemand, go watch that episode NOW. They are giving us the next episode all season, so even though this week was the David Bowie ep, OnDemand has the Dan Radcliffe ep, too. <Harry Potter nerd> that "guy from Willow" is Warwick Davis. He's also from Harry Potter! He's professor Flitwick. He's the one who teaches them "swish and flick" and "Wengardium Leviosa".</HPN> OH, and did anyone else catch Ricky on the XM portion of Opie and Anthony yesterday?? |

Harry Potter ep was Ok. The best part had to be Diana Rigg with a condom on her head and horny teen Radcliffe asking her if she still had her cat suit from the Avengers.
It just couldn't compare to the Bowie ep which is one of the funniest achievements in television history along with Winslett and Patrick Stewart = pure gold. |
