Girls + Muay Thai + reality show www.oxygen.com/fightgirls/ *Quote:* Last summer three female fighters attempted the impossible to beat the best in the world in a battle for the World Championship belt in Muay Thai. They put their dreams and determination in front of everything else in their lives. Now, the 3 will get a shot to avenge their loss and 10 new girls will get a shot at their own dream. This is FIGHT GIRLS the series. At first glance, these young women are as normal as you can get mothers, daughters, sisters, girlfriends and wives. They have day jobs, night jobs, no jobs but they all have the same dream to be a great fighter. These girls have made the biggest decision of their lives to come to Vegas to train for the championship under 3 mentors and the Muay Thai legend Master Toddy. The contestants give themselves the ultimate challenge a fight with a champion. We will see the highs and lows, the wear and tear that it takes to be a fight girl the strains on their body, mind, and lives. Each week one girl will be eliminated, because she doesnt have what it takes. After 5 weeks, the remaining contestants will travel to Thailand to put their skills to the test against the best female fighters in the world. Basically, ten girls go head-to-head over five weeks. The five winners will go to Thailand to fight against a team of Thai girls. Three episodes have already aired and they've been pretty good. Of course the more experienced fighters are going to have the advantage in any fight. Each episode also shows a small clip of each girl they're going to face in Thailand and I have to say they look like they could have the Americans for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Without giving too much away, the trend of more experienced fighters winning each match continues. In the four matches so far, only the second one was a very close fight. The others had the winner clearly attacking more than their opponent. The last fight is going to be Jennifer vs Miriam. They definitely left this to last because of Miriam's continuing drama with the other girls. She's been pretty much setting herself apart from everyone else and no one likes her because of it. They aren't friends so both of them are really going to go after each other. Best fight to watch and the only one to end in a split decision. On one side we have Jen, who all of the other girls like. She's only had a few years experience but she always goes for it and trains hard. On the other side, we have Miriam, who's a loner that all the other girls hate. The 4 that have completed their matches and are going to Thailand absolutely do not want her to be there and they all talk shit about her constantly. She's had more experience but she left Muay Thai to go to boxing a few years ago and is getting back into it. She originally left because someone close to her died in a fight. She's also undisciplined and doesn't like listening to instruction. The girls even made signs supporting Jen only and were openly cheering her on during the match. You can see where this is going. Both girls didn't pull any punches and really went at each other. Jen kept moving forward and pushing Miriam back but Miriam fought back with pretty brutal looking punches and kicks. You can even hear the girls complaining that she was fighting dirty. When they were standing side by side at the end for the announcement of who won, Jen's face is all puffy and wet and Miriam looks like she came from a spa. Of course, Miriam won. Great match and she did deserve to win. Next week: Thailand! Gina, one of the trainers, defends her title.

Last year Master Toddy brought 3 American girls to to Thailand. Only one of them won her match, Lisa, one of the mentors on the show. The 3 Thai girls are brought to America for a rematch. The first American throws in the towel after being pummeled in the first round. The second one avenged her previous loss. And Lisa decisively won again. The rest of the episode is more of how much the girls hate Miriam and Master Toddy trying to get them to work together. Next week: The girls finally go to Thailand to fight and more drama with Miriam and the other girls.
