Thursday 12 AM showings box office for Terminator Salvation - $13 million something
Friday box office - $14 million (eek, that's not so good, but that was expected) So about 45 mil Fri-Sun, add in the Thursday showings for a 55-60 range (eh, forgot Memorial Day, so I guess it could be about 70 over five days). With a budget of $200 mil, you have to hope that it will be saved with international numbers. The reviews were pretty brutal. With bad reviews and summer competition, it could possibly end up grossing as much as Paul Blart: Mall Cop in the US. This is what happens when you entrust a franchise to McG.

Yes, the final numbers are falling well short of the initial estimates. $43 million opening weekend ($62 million if you include the 5 day totals) to finish way
behind Night at the Museum 2.
So it looks like the new movie probably wouldn't have had much effect on the TV show anyway. |

The movie reviews were unduly brutal.
Not the best movie I've ever seen, yeah, but entertaining? Absolutely. Kept me glued to the seat, sometimes squirming, sometimes laughing, but it was a great 2-hour thrill ride for $10. Whoever writes the reviews for the DC Metro publication The Express apparently stopped paying attention after the first 10 minutes. Everything he panned I saw in the opening scenes. What were they expecting, anyway? It's a Terminator movie! And this edition was a damn sight better than the last offering in this franchise. The only problem I had with this was the lack of character development. I know it's difficult to develop characters in an action flick, but it made me respect the series (and what it tried to do) all the more. |

The movie was not very good--didn't suck as bad as some of the reviews said, but I was disappointed--I guess I was expecting more after enjoying the
series! It's worth seeing on the big screen for the big explosions and stuff though.

That's really perceptive! Here's an interesting read, the URL announcing the major import of the interview: http://io9.com/5271481/sarah-connors-story-is-really-over-producer-tells-io9 |

That showrunner needs another show stat. Loved him in that interview.
I'm, still pissed this got the axe while Dollhouse lived on. Had I had to pull the trigger on one over the other it wouldn't have even been CLOSE. |

I posted this in the Dollhouse thread but thought that it was relevant here as well:

Lena Headey has been cast as Cersei Lannister on HBO's upcoming series "A Game of Thrones". The series hasn't been officially picked up yet,
but a pilot has been ordered. Anyone familiar with the books knows that Cersei is a juicy role indeed. Plenty of opportunity for Lena to flex her acting
muscle.

I knew he was the gay when his agent freaked out and forced him off of Heroes when they decided to make his character gay. Agents like to protest too much.
However, I didn't realize quite how gay he was. Damn. |
