Thanks PAPA. Darn Scooby Doo. Darn him to heck. I was playing Night of 100 Frights on PS 2. I missed the first few minutes because of it.

Not a good role for Ms. Arquette. She did a terrible job. I've seen better acting in elementary school Christmas Pagents. The premise of the show is OK though.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I'd love to see this show do well and did enjoy the first episode....
I too am a Lost fanatic but I don't remember having the same feeling that it couldn't go anywhere (in all likleihood because I'm a JJ Abrams Whore)... I'm definately gonna give it three or four more episodes before I make my final diagnosis.... |

It was pretty good; I would watch again. I also wonder how they will create conflict for her if she is 'special even among the special' or whatever the other pyschic said

I liked it. Not so thrilled with the husband, but maybe he can get struck by lightening. I just hope the kids pipe down. I hate cute tv kids. We'll see how Thursday's episode goes.

well I find it interesting that this is based on a real life women who actually has this ability, that alone is enough to make it interesting IMO. Although a "real" show on TLC or perhaps some other channel might've proved more interesting.
overall loved this show and I loved Patricia in it. I can't wait for the next two shows to see if it improves or goes south. |

Quote: Agreed- Patricia Arquette was terrible. The part in the car where she was talking about the rain - ie, when the rain stops the crime scene will be gone - was just painful. |

I thought that this was just OK. I didn't find myself connecting with the characters as much as I wanted to. I'll watch again but it has to go a lot deeper to make me want to watch it religiously like Lost, Alias, etc.
My hope was that this show would be like Profiler. That show was the best and the conflict was a killer that became obsessed with the main character. |

Overall I liked it, but am already worried based on the preview that said she passes her abilities to her daughter....Keep the kids out of it atleast until she gets established!

I thought the show was good, I like the paranormal stuff, the WTF was all that crud about the RAIN washing away the crime scene? I mean, if she had pointed out where the body was, buried in a field, and then a hurricane hits, it would all wash away??? Where??? Maybe if it was only buried an inch or so, but c'mon...... That whole scenario was bogus, just used to show that she really could find the body, but then they needed to get her in the jail somehow to interview the perp. (Like his lawyer would let her interview him alone anyways.)

It did have a few WTF moments, with the acting and the hurricane, but overall I liked it. Now, the cop did ask her if she'd been watching the news that night, but even that rang false as here in Florida, the local reporters clock those things from the time they're a tropical wave, so I have a hard time believing that she had NO awareness of a hurricane approaching prior to that day. Come to think of it, they shouldn't have even flown her into the area knowing a hurricane was approaching. Hmm.
It did pretty well in the ratings according to zap2it: Quote: |

YAY.
I also thought the HURRICANE ALLISON part was hokey. I'm guessing the Texas Rangers didn't have faith that she'd be able to relocate the body once it was washed up or maybe it being in that location was critical to a conviction. I'm also thinking HURRICANES sound more glamorous than TROPICAL STORMS. |

I liked it with the exception of the hurricane part. I am looking forward to the next episode on Thursday. The ending gave me chills that the first person she interviews with her new job was the guy in the dream. That would be the most creepiest thing if that really happened to me or heard it as a true story.

Re: Medium | ||

The first episode was "okay." I thought Patricia Arquette was trying to be a bit too Erin Brokovich-y; unfortunately, her "tough working mom with a heart of gold" came off more "grouchy wife who snaps at strangers and doesn't appreciate her nice husband." That said, the show was interesting enough that I will watch again and give the actors some time to get comfortable in their roles.
Also, one thing I really want to see is a commitment to psychic powers and a move away from being "based on a real person." Allison went back and forth between an uber-psychic who has control over her ability to see and talk to dead people and a confused woman who can only sense a little of this and a little of that and doesn't know how to make sense of her visions. IMO, this show will only work if she can see and hear clearly the ghosts (the non-believing characters around her can provide the obstacles, not her own inabilities to receive messages from the beyond). |

I loved it, and it did well - almost caught CSI: Miami - so I'm glad maybe it will at least get the CHANCE to suck, if in fact it does.
