^That's assuming that they have time after their demanding work, and taking care of the family.

They've tried. Remember the reporter Allison befriended? The one that lied to her and then got beheaded, even though Allison tried to save her?
Allison plays well with others...she just can't get close to anyone because she sees their real selves, not the one they project for others to see. I think all those episodes about her childhood really laid it out beautifully for us as to why it is so hard for her to be friends with anyone. |

By the way, what the fuck with the opening montage?
The teenage girl cutting herself. Seriously disturbing, then goes nowhere. |

That was incredibly fucked up but I 'got' it. She was talking about obsessions and desires and all the bad places they can take us.
Cutting is not something you see everyday on tv and the way they showed her pleasure was really disturbing. I actually thought it was brilliant. |

Yup, in retrospect, that makes sense. Still, what a jarring way to start an ep. I should've remembered that this is Medium.
These folks don't hide their punches. Anyhow, now two eppies with Ali getting possessed? Physically possessed? What? Is this show turning into a backdoor Quantum Leap? Me.not.like. |

Yeah, they need to stop that. It kind of reduces the credibility of the police department to have someone on the staff who stabs guys in the heart with scissors in their off hours. Speaking of which, Joe can't be feeling too comfortable sleeping next to the psychopath these days. Sorry, I meant psychic.... It's beginning to get hard to tell the difference on this show. On a different note, I really like how the actress who plays Ariel is getting more and more airtime. She's young, but she's pretty good.

I don't think they should have even bothered showing the episode. It was an episode that was shown out of order in my opinion. We've already seen
Ariel drive so her being taught to drive in this episode means that this episode should have been shown earlier than the one where we saw her drive to school
(the episode where she had the mock baby).
Plus I agree that the possession thing again so soon was overboard. |

I agree, this episode was shown out of order. And I am not liking Allison being possessed 2 weeks in a row now. Not one bit.
They are better than this (at writing) so I am hoping this is some big lead up to something that has nothing to do with her actual psychic abilities but with Joe and her's relationship. Or maybe this is a lead in to Allison gaining deeper insight into how to manage her abilities and those of her kids. It has to be leading somewhere dramatic otherwise why bother? |

The whole Joe-teaching-Ariel-to-drive plot should have been dropped. Joe was being very Un-Joe about the whole thing. Whining cos Ariel already knew what to
do? wtf?

The medical examiner in Phoenix isn't very good. Scanlon told Allison that the person who killed the woman was taller by a foot. There is no way that guy
was that tall. I'm not liking the last two weeks either.

And then Ariel got upset because she can't not read people's minds, that's just the way she is. It was touching scene, at least the way I saw it. |

I wondering if that was what was going on, too.
Between that and Ariel getting all baked out over the "baby," something's up with her this season. It does make sense that this was out of order -- the nets appear to be showing a inordinate amount of reruns, so maybe CBS wanted to burn this weak ep in a non-sweeps setting. |

Also not thrilled with Allison repeatedly getting possessed. By all accounts this one should've blown up in their faces had the kid not killed his father at the end. |

I got from it not so much the mind reading (If she can read his mind then how come she didn't know he was lying when he said he LOVED driving with her the
next night), but that he didn't get to TEACH her. He was so excited. I remember when my Dad was teaching me and I could tell he loved it when I fucked up
so he could calm me down, show me again how to do something and then get really proud when I did it right. It's a dad/daughter thing I think.

I think that the whole thing with him being upset is more than just that, but him also being upset that his little girl is growing up and soon won't need
him to teach her anything (earlier he was going on about how she can't be driving because he just took her training wheels off her bike.) Teaching her how
to drive is one of the last few milestones before she is an adult and 'no longer needs dad' to show her things and he can't even do that right
because she already knows the answer.

mds2929 wrote:I know she was crouched. It's just they used the height of the killer as a reason why it couldn't have been Allison. Once they showed the murder and the woman crouching it was obvious that it could have been Allison. I just think it wasn't very good writing that's all. Either the medical examiner didn't do their job well or it was a bad way for the writers to show Allison didn't do it. Not a big deal just some I noticed while watching. |
