Sadly, i've traded my 11:00 King of Queens for According to Jim.
I'm just burned out with them anymore. |

A few nights ago i caught the end of an episode where apparently Doug had been lying about an injury and instead of oging to therapy he was playing trampoline basketball with his friends.
The part i saw was when Carrie found out and confronted him in the gym and instead of staying mad she started to get excited about jumping on the trampoline, then she keeps telling Doug to jump higher eventually Doug jumps to high hits his head on the basketball hoop and knocks himself out. Carrie looks at him for a few seconds and then runs out of the gym as fast as she can. I only caught the end of this episode but i couldnt stop laughing for about ten minutes. |

^I remember that episode as well. I was LMAO throughout the whole show.
I was so sad this year when it didn't come on Monday nights as I had anticpated and then started to see if it was on on other evenings since I never heard it got cancelled. So glad it's coming back. ETA: I do have to say that The Class is growing on me. There's some pretty funny shit on that show too. |

Carrie with the fake family was kinda funny. And leave it to Doug to buy an ice cream truck, and then the guy is totally running a scam. Also the woman and the other Doug Heffernan was funny. Leah's hubby did a good job as the mad boyfriend. And then the sexy Doug is a skinny balding guy.

The liquid flying out of the smashed port-a-potty was a brilliant touch.
Glad to see Carrie lost all the weight. mmmmmm |

I like that fact that she lost her big fat ass. That show only needs one big fat ass, and it's Doug.
Thank you for reading. |

I am so glad that this show is back. I thought both episodes were good but I liked the 1st one more. Carrie's fake family storyline had me laughing hysterically especially when she was in the bedroom w/ Doug and told him that she needed a reason to stay as he was acting all psycho b/c of the ice cream truck song.
The actors are what make this show. Doug and Carrie's facial expressions are the best. Only disappointment was the absence of Arthur. Is Jerry Stiller well? Up until last season he was in basically every episode but last season he was absent from many. Already he's not in 2 this season. Hmmm... Fun Fact- the waitress at the bar is Doug's rl wife. |

The episode where Doug scared Major and kept going back and trying to fix it, but only made it worse, was pretty funny. Especially when he climbed the fire escape in the clown suit, and then Carrie beat him up. The other episode I only half-watched, as I got a phone call during it. Doug should never be a supervisor.

Were the two episodes last night repeats?

Nope. Both are brand new episodes.

Re: The King of Queens | ||

Why are they continuing to run back to back new episodes rather than one new and one repeat when there are only so many episodes since it only got a midseason order?
W/ the way CBS is going they will burn off all the shows in a few weeks. KOQ is a great comedy and does just as well as their Monday night shows in the same time slot. A full order should have been given to their final season, midseason's bad enough but putting 2 together? Just sad. |

Quote: I was glad too - until I watched the new episodes. Like so many other sitcoms in a similar position (namely they go off the air for a long time but then are brought back), when they come back, the writing really sucks. They really go downhill. I don't know why. But someone in the business would probably know. It could have something to do with their syndication deal. Maybe they need to produce a few more shows to hit a big number for syndication and thereby can make a lot more money. Shotgun Artie certainly wasn't at all funny. I got the feeling he was forced to do that shit if he wanted to cash in on his syndication deal so he could leave a bunch of dough to his grandkids. |

^ KOQ didn't go off the air for a long time and then get some 11th hour reprieve or anything. Last season, they knew that they'd do one more season and KOQ was announced as only midseason a long time ago, prob. before the last season ended back in May or whatever.
I think the 4 episodes so far have been good. Some things work more than others but I certainly don't find them to be a lesser quality than all past shows. Doug and Carrie make me laugh - the actors' characteristics/mannerisms always get me. |

I havent really watched this show too much over the years, but we've been watching it at work lately and its really quite funny. Its not brilliant like Arrested Development or UK Office, but is a very good sitcom.
I actually look forward to watching it at 5 on TBS now. |
