Maybe they were trying to cram last season's end of season storylines with how they wanted to start the 2nd season and it was just too much. The cast is so amazing I can't believe it will turn into a crap show. I'm optimistic it will get better.

I would hardly call season one a masterpiece; it was definitely solid at first but really lost its footing and got rather messy because it couldn't figure out what kind of show it wanted to be. Tonight you could tell it really embraced its soapy, tawdry self. I thought tonight's premiere was a great re-boot.

Im excited to see where it goes this season. And If I'm not mistaken the actress who plays Juliet is supposed to come back for an episode or two, to wrap up.

Posts: 1647 (10/02/08 7:37 PM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	Ah...yes, Entertainment Weekly has an article about the ratings last night, and while all three ABC shows were indeed, down in the ratings last evening, the EW writer makes this fair point: "As for the 10 p.m., Dirty Sexy Money returned to 7.1 million viewers to finish second. That's down from the season 1 premiere (10.4 million) and last season's average (7.4 million) but actually up 6 percent from its last original episode (6.7 million), which aired in December." Slight glimmer of promise, no? I also think any 10 PM show has to be considered for lower ratings than earlier in the evening. I know unless I truly LOVE a show, I will just TiVo it at 10 and watch it at another time. As of right now, Lost and DSM are the only ones I'll stay up late for.

I can see how maybe they crammed too much in, but understand why they had to due to the shortened season 1. I think Natalie Zea is my favorite TV actress ever. And I totally admit to a small TV crush on Nick. And Simon, too. I am happy this is back on, and I don't watch much network TV. It is so OTT. Brian having the major tanning bed burn was brilliant. Love the doing what is morally right vs. doing what is best for the family, which is also morally right in a way, dilemnas. Am I squeeing too much?

If there was a lot crammed in I think it was because they wanted to try and get new viewers up to speed. Never mind us old viewers who haven't seen it in so long and kinda forgot what the hell was going on.

No "Juliet is going away for a little while" or "Juliet couldn't make it tonight" or "Juliet broke a nail and had a minor freakout." They're just gonna pretend like she didn't exist!?!!? The only good thing about the show was them arresting Tish right at the end cuz I really did think they were coming to get Pat for Ellen's death. STUPID and PREDICTABLE... you got that right and what a shame. This show is almost as bad as Big Shots was. I can't stand Donald Sutherland he plays the same part in every show he's in. I love Peter Krause but he's not doing it for me in this show.

I loved the first season, but I do have to admit I feel a bit ambivalent about the show now. Something is stopping me from totally loving it. I really just have to get one thing off of my chest though, I absolutely HATE the Simon Elder storyline. I don't think that I can care any less about that character and his plot.
