Why was I not informed about this show? Other than Curb Your Enthusiasm, I have not watched or enjoyed a sitcom in years. Although Seinfeld was very funny, there was something sloppy about the writing. Perhaps that was because the premise was being about nothing or maybe due to the over reliance on their own vocabulary of marble rye, master of the domain, yadda yadda yadda yadda...

I missed the crisp scripting of the classics: Honeymooners, Newhart's shows, Faulty Towers, Wings and more. They all exhibited their own particular logic and there was a sense of completeness to their stories.

'Sunny' is a great return to form. The individual characters, while outlandish, do not chew up the scenery. Granted, I watched only the first season before Danny Devito came on board to join 'The Gang'.

Still there is the underlying bitter cynicism of 'Curb' under the surface, especially the lengths the gang goes to pick up the opposite sex.
