This is one of the most consistantly funny shows on television. All the actors were great. Laurie Metcalf and Sara Gilbert were always brilliant. As far as Becky goes, I think Lecy Goranson was a better actress, but Sarah Chalke was hotter (and still is if you watch Scrubs). I just saw the episode where Mark was failing Trade School.
Mark: "Well, Mrs. Connor, I am the big idiot you always thought I was." Roseanne: "Well it's less funny when you know it's true." Also, John Goodman is one of the most underrated actors in Hollywood. He always gives great performances, even in bad movies (The Babe, King Ralph). It always amazed me he never won an Emmy for his work here. And  to the Academy for not nominating him for The Big Lewbowski.

I TOTALLY agree Ben. John Goodman was so great in the series... the last season felt weird without him.
After David and Darlene broke up the first time... David - Gee, can we still NOT have sex? Darlene - That I'll give you After DJ admits he doesn't want to kiss a black girl DJ - Well Dad says I don't have to, and he outranks you. Darlene - Are you NEW? I could do this for days.  |

Where David has the sex dream about Mrs. Conner, also when Roseanne's mother was picked up for a DUI right before the superbowl (Drunken Hines)!!
Lecy Goranson was in Boys Don't Cry. I'm suprised that Gilbert and Metcalf aren't working more, both are first rate character actresses, as is Estelle Parsons.

Seawright beat me to it. I love that episode where David is having sex dreams. Poor Becky was upset that the sex dreams was not about her.
 How about the Gay wedding episode? Roseanne locked Leon up because he was having cold feet. Leon was having doubts about his sexuality. He said "I am a Republican, I hate shopping, etc." Than Leon kissed Roseanne and said "Yep, I am gay." Then had a big old gay wedding. |

Roseanne was hilarious.
One of my fav episodes was when Becky ran away with Mark and got married. Dan and Becky had just had a heated exchange after Dan told the family the bike shop was going out of business. Roseanne looks at Darlene and asks "Is there anything you'd like to add." Darlene: "Can I have a pony." And also when Jackie tells Bev that she is pregnant. Jackie: "Well Mom, I'm pregnant. I met up with a guy I hardly know we had sex for hours and I got pregnant." (BEV'S EYES GET EXTREMELY BUGGED OUT) Jackie: And I'm not going to marry him, I'm keeping the baby and if its a girl I'm naming it Gidget Long live Laurie Metcalf. Later, MOO-MOO |

Another great Jackie line... when Bev and Jake were dating.
"I'll give the bride away if you kick her down the ailse" I also love any episode with Shelly Winters (Nana Mary) Especially when she married the old, senile Joe.

It's actually Regina Filangi. And yes, it's from Friends. It's a pseudonom that Pheobe uses a bit. I was trying to come up with a screenname for another board and one episode of Friends that she used it in was on. I figured, what the hell.. it's as good as any.

I remember one where Dan and Roseanne were laughing about how when one of the kids was little (can't remember which one) they always messed up the words to the song "Gypsies, Tramps & Thieves". Dan and Roseanne sing it together:

But I digress...one of my favorite Jackie lines is a fourth of July episode where Jackie, Dan, and Fred are in the garage sneaking some beer because they didn't want to drink in front of Jackie's mother (Beverly) who was an alcoholic. Suddenly there hear Beverly coming...Jackie's reaction: Jackie: "Quick! Hide! It's Bev! Beverage! Non-alcoholic beverage!" |

Loved the ep. when Bev and her boyfriend were having sex and she fell off the bed. Later, her boyfriend told Roseanne and Jackie that the people at the retirement home nicknamed her "craftmatic adjustable Bev".
