I'll have to find it on TBS (is that where it is?) I can't recall a particular fave episode, but I loved the show right up until they won the Lottery. I didn't watch much after that. I loved the early eps at the plastic factory. the truth is, I only started watching because of George Clooney, but I stayed even after he left. He was HOT. well, he still is, but I was really in love with him back in those days. I had even watched (Shudder) Facts of Life to see him.

I also love when, in the episode where they find out Bev is an alcoholic, she is lecturing Darlene. She says something like, "you can wake up with more than just a hangover. You have to watch out for the Herpes." The ending of the series always confused me too. I mean, the fact that Roseanne says she always pictured Jackie with men and that the real couples were David/Becky and Mark/Darlene means the whole show was fantasy. I think the key is the very end. She's explaining the the series was her writing a story, but the story was what happened in real life. She mentions something about changing whatever she didn't like. I could be wrong, but that's what I got from the final episode.

But I could not tear myself from Darlene giving birth to her baby episode ...... Darlene gave birth to a very premature baby. The doctors offer little hope for the baby's surival. Her baby cannot breath on her own. Darlene blamed herself. David had a breakdown. Dan & Mark tried to console him and told him to be strong for Darlene. Roseanne hired some specialist but they were useless. Darlene & David made the painful decsion to pull the plug. In the end of the episode, Jackie, Roseanne, Becky, Bev, and Darlene hold the baby. Jackie told the baby a silly sorry about how she fell off the car. Becky promised to be a good aunt. But this sad story had a happy ending. Darlene decided to name the baby Harris Connor after the strong women in the family. The baby surive. It brought tears to my eyes.

The episode when Mark told David that the Connor's were their parents also makes me cry. I can't believe that Glenn Quinn is dead. The DJ/jerking off episode is one of my favourites. So many great lines. DJ finally has a friend that isn't make believe - Darlene DJ got caught playing with his instrument in band - Darlene I'm not even IN band, stupid! - DJ I had a great day, it was the 267th (or something like that) day in a row I did exactly the same thing - Dan Well DJ here is well on his way to shattering that record - Darlene

I was watching that channel, and they showed a promo about it. The voice-over said something like "coming soon" and then you hear the Roseanne show theme song in the background and Roseanne's loud laugh. I hope I'm right!

I have been in school all summer (shudder~at night) so I've been watching old Roseanne reruns on Prime and TBS during the day. My favorites are the Crystal Saying Goodbye to Her Dead Husband in the Bridge one. The one where Mark has the surprise party for Becky in the trailer and the toilet gets clogged and floods the trailer and Becky wants to leave Mark to go to college. I don't know why that was never followed up on in later episodes. The one where Roseanne and Jackie go to Chicago to meet Darlene's new boyfriend, and it's Hyde from That 70s Show! Also, the one where David stalks Hyde. The one where there's the tornado and Jackie is missing for a bit. I've always really liked that one, I guess because I grew up on the prairies and tornadoes make me ~sniff sniff~ sentimental. The Christmas one where Becky gets the job at Bunz and Mark and Dan drink beer on the roof. I have not seen past the Darlene's baby episode, but I am going to have to watch the three episodes on Prime tomorrow to see what happens next. The ending sounds pretty trippy.

Posts: 35123 (07/30/03 9:38 AM) Sexy asshole Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	the best writing on the show seemed to come right in the middle of the shows run. all the halloween episodes were great. john goodman, laurie metcalf, estelle parsons, johnny galecki, and sara gilbert were the best supporting cast ever. the one where darlene has the baby, and roseanne stands over the bassinet, staring in, and willing the baby to live tears me up. also the very last episode. the last season, with the hamptons, the train, james brolin, is a little much though. i put roseanne up with the simpsons as one of the greatest series ever

I was thrilled to find Roseanne on FIVE times a day! two in a row on UPN 9 at 11 & 11:30 then three in a row on yes tbs, a block from 3pm to 3:30 I've been tring to turn the tv off during the day if I'm nursing except for Days of course, but some mornings ok most mornings I get sucked in... he does eat every two and a half hours... I like that the two channels play a few years apart I saw one recently with a different DJ! Today were two really good ones 1965 young Rosie (played by a dolled up michael fishman) & Jackie go to a fortune teller (a dolled up goodman) and see their future. It ends with 2025 with an older Jackie (laurie metcalf dressed like mom beverly, hair and all) taking adult DJ (Goodman agian) to the shrink because she is the only one who will still speak to him all he does is rock back and forth repeating "they say she's the same but she's not the same" and flash to a montage of the two beckys. then the shrink saying "if we could only get in side his head" The next one was the one with all the other sitcom moms even Florida! It's a classic! I didn't watch it yet, had to venture out, but tivo'd it. I agree, on par with the Simpsons Also always liked the episodes with Nana Mary played by the most awesome Shelley Winters

Hopefully they will start showing them. Where I live Roseanne comes on at 9pm on KDOC, Tues. - Thurs., and sometime around noon everyday. One of my favorite lines...when Roseanne tells Dan that her Mother might move in with them and Dan says something like..."But where will I live Dear?". I love that one. This was really one of the best sitcoms ever made. I think it portrayed a more realistic family life and types of problems families go through...not the typical goody two shoes family that never had to struggle and everything always turned out perfect (i.e. The Cosby Show...Horrible and boring I tell ya). I tape this show as well whenever I get the chance so I can watch when nothing else is on (and with the shows these daysnothing else is ever on). Whoever has the rights to this needs to jump on the "Let's put TV Shows on DVD" band wagon and get cracking. Roseanne, Three's Company and The Golden Girls are the best!

Sarah is great on Scrubs, though. I liked how in later seasons, they switched off between the two Beckys a few times and they'd make jokes about it in the script. The best thing about this show was Laurie Metcalf. Brilliant actress, awesome character. She deserved to win an Emmy every single year. One of my favorite episodes was on today, where Darlene gets her period. They dealt with it realistically, unlike most shows. Darlene being embarassed, Roseanne and Jackie getting all sentimental, Dan being just plain horrified and dumbstruck...hillarious.

J: Sure let's go with that......... so, 3 a year for 20 years that's just........60, wow 60 F: I don't even know 60 people J: Well, I didn't know all of them!
