Wow, that was a good episode. I really like the special effects and the way the don't overdo it either. Stuff like this really shows how bad Star Wars and Lucas has become.

I love this show. It just keeps getting better.
I'm glad the school teacher has balls. It's amazing how they are keeping the dramatic levels up about the toaster love affairs. IMO, the toasters are interactive talking blow up dolls yet there are punchy Stockholm syndrome affected bleeding hearts who believe they love them. Not to forget a literally mad scientist who had his psychotic break from nearly day 1. I never understood the attachment people had to ST:TNG's Data, either. My car, my computer and my kitchen mixer have names, but sheesh. The writers needed some way to remove Admiral Bitch from the storyline. Sadly, the toaster revenge was a convenient and common plot device. I still look forward to this show every week. The episodes go so quickly. Cutting the commercials and episode recaps each week the things run with about 39 min of fresh material each week. That's not much time to pack a lot into. I can't wait for the mechanical butchery promised for next week. Unfortunately that promise is probably as misleading as most preview snips are. Too bad. I want some satisfying toaster evisceration. |

Quote: All she had to do was fire Cain. She's supposed to be the Colonial "Commander-In Chief". Or doesn't the civilian government have control of its' military in this universe. After all, President Truman fired Gen MacArthur during the Korean War. I'll bet "Robobaby" has some kind of anti-cancer enzyme in it's system that can cure Roslyn if the baby is aborted. Stem cell research debate, anyone? |

The president couldn't fire the admiral, because the admiral would just declare marshall law. Also, you're applying our rules of government to their system, which may operate completely differently.

"Robobaby anti cancer enzyme"
I was guessing something like that, another convenient plot device. How else would the Prez make it to season 3. How can there be suspense when the word was already out on which principal actors already signed on for the next season? I don't want the toasters to have any redeeming features. Nuke 'em all. |

I think they should let the president die. Keeping her alive is just too much of a contrivance.
I've read various reviews of the first few episodes and all the reviewers love them. Me? Not so much. The episodes are very derivative of other shows. The whole "blackbird" storyline is straight from numerous Star Trek storylines. When the chips are down, your crew just miraculously builds the newer, better ship that solves all your issues. Another big problem is there is no consistency as to how dangerous the cylons really are. Early on, they made them appear so powerful that they seemed to be just toying with the human fleet. Now, the writers make it seem like the cylons are desperately following the humans, barely able to keep up with them. I was glad they killed off Kane/Cain. The whole Pegasus plot line made very, very little sense. If your entire species is nearly terminated, it seems like you should concentrate on survival, not military etiquette. Roselyn made it abundantly clear how very few humans were still alive. Why are they wasting them? It really makes zippo sense. I can't even begin to buy it. I'm still watching because I like Starbuck. Apollo is a bit whiney, but overall he's still in the plus column. For how much longer, I'm not sure... p.s.: Anyone else think Dee (the communications woman) is the next Cylon agent to be outed by the writers? |

Re: Wow | ||

The only way this show could improve is if they moved it to HBO which would allow for rampant nudity and a Starbuck/Boomer/Six three-way. As far as Roslyn and her Cancer I'm betting they learn the secret of how the Cylons download their consciousness and do the same to Roslyn before she dies transferring her into a Cylon shell. Hopefully a model with a big rack!!

I just finished watching the ep, well done, I thought. The pending double assassinations was particularly good.
Quote: I thought about this, too, but for a different reason -- when Adm. Kane is alone and contemplating strategy, she slowly rolls her fingers ... in the exact same motion Bogie's Cmdr. Queeg used when rolling the steel balls. Anyhow, have they abandoned the idea of finding Earth, which was the reason behind all that arrow foolishness? |

RE: | ||

They haven't abandoned Earth they just needed to setup some new scenarios such as Baltar's conversion, Lee's deathwish and the precarious situation of the child, among other things.

Baltar wants a threesome with the Cylon in his mind and the one hiding in his room.

A convenient magic save for the president. Big surprise there writers! (not)
This show just cotinues to meander along. They have some really great actors that play their characters really well, but the show continues to go no where. Lots of dramatic suspense, but zippo happens. |

These separtists who want to surrender to the Cylons:
Why not put them on the creakiest rustbucket in the fleet and give them a shove towards the nearest Cylon base star? I'm kinda/sorta beginning to agree that the show's going nowhere. What the hell was the point of securing that arrow if they're not going to use it? And if the writers now give us a "the cylon blood is taking over the President" storyline, I'll know this series is doomed. And fuck Boomer. Fuck her right in the ear. |
