I'm interested in seeing how "mommie dearest" interacts with everyone next week. In the promo, it showed Vaughn telling Sydney that mom could help them. Very interesting, considering she killed his father.

The heroin thing was odd, but it was probably the best thing they could think of in a hurry. Will's life is ruined now.

Last night's season premiere of "Alias" kicked ass. I love seeing Sydney/Jennifer Garner. in her various disguises and hairstyles, beat up bad guys to a pulp.
Bulletin Bored: thanks for the pix of Bradley Cooper and Michael Vartan. Both men are smokin'! I especially think Bradley Cooper handsome - a slight resemblance to Ralph Fiennes, but good-looking in his own right. Who here dissed Lena Olin? I'll ignore that. She's married to a fellow Swede whose either a famous theatre or film director in their native country. Olin, if any of you are unfamiliar with her, was in the wonderful, erotic "The Unbearable Lightness of Being" with Daniel Day-Lewis and Juliette Binoche. I'm wondering too what they plan to do with Will's character. Just sitting around on Sydney's couch, unemployed, seeking consolation is pretty lame. Yes, J.Garner deserved the Emmy! Allison Janney is terrific, but three Emmys in a row? That's a bit much. |

Oh wow. I FINALLY watched it. I had so much homework this last week and I didn't have the chance until tonight.
Last episode . . . The biggest news is that Francie decided to open her own restaraunt So what's going to happen next? Will Will turn into a bum? Quote: That's exactly what I think will happen. Why did Mommy turn herself in? You better believe she's got something up her sleeve. Soon to come . . . Sloane is made a full partner in the Alliance of Twelve, but is haunted by Emily's death. Will spots Francie speaking to a suspicious and questionable individual. Jack comes face-to-face with Sydney's mom for the first time in nearly 20 years. And Will meets Vaughn at last (Yay! The two hotties get to meet!). Stay tuned! The Ralphie quote of the week is . . .
"When I grow up I'm going to be a principal, or a caterpillar!"
Ralphie Wiggum is a special individual. He spends his time eating crayons, asking stupid questions and talking to his imaginary friend. |

I think Emily's still alive. Her death seemed too quick and easy. I think it'll be cool if she came back in the last episode as a cliffhanger for the season finale.

Mark my words. We haven't seen the last of Emily Sloane.
Also, look for Will's story to resurface. Who does everyonene think that the "suspicious character" Will sees Francie talking to is? The tooth-pulling guy? Emily? So many possibilities. The Ralphie quote of the week is . . .
"When I grow up I'm going to be a principal, or a caterpillar!"

how come they killed Jennifer's boyfriend and Emily but won't kill Will?

Re: Bravo! | ||||

NudeJerri--I wondered the same thing in an earlier post. Will knows more about SD-6 than Danny did yet Danny gets killed immediately while Will is left alone. Also, Jack has convinced Sloane to spare Will's life not once but twice, all because he's Syd's friend. Sloane didn't seem suspicious about that. And don't forget, in that t.v. interview after the heroine thing, Will mentioned SD-6 on national t.v.!! And Sloane just goes along with it. It's awfully weird that Sloane hasn't grown suspicious of Jack, Will, and Syd.

It just ended here in Canada. It airs an hour earlier here than in the States. Sydney's mother is definitely up to no good. Did anyone else think Sydney looked great in that white tiger striped dress tonight?

Once again...poor Francie!
"What color are the walls?" And the liquor license thing? Lena Olin is perfect in her role. A VERY welcome addition to the cast. |

Wow, Sydney's mommy is a little "off". Did you catch her weird blank stares at Vaughn when Vaughn was asking her questions? It's like she was contemplating having sex with him or murdering him...couldn't tell which. Lena Olin is a great actress!
And how about Sloane holding Sydney's hand and kissing it? Blech. I know the old fart thinks of himself as her father figure, but it's still creepy on so many levels. |

Re: Bravo! | ||||

I almost expected Lena Olin to pull a Hannibal Lecter-type move, from behind that clear prison panel! She was chilling to watch - definitely a good actress and a great cast addition, as already stated above.
What was interesting about her is she had so little dialogue in tonight's episode, but made it clear that her devious mind was at work. In the very last scene when Sidney walks away, after ordering her mom only to act professionally with her from now on, what do you think the smile on Olin's face meant? Maternal pride in how tough and capable her daughter has become? She's definitely a "tough love" kind of mom. Isn't it true that female scorpions eat their young? I wouldn't put that past her! |

Re: Bravo! | ||||

I'm glad they're finally throwing Francie in the mix by having her meet up with "shifty characters". Wanna bet they're not mafia people at all? Wanna bet SHE'S a spy?
Sydney looked great this episode. I love how top-secret objects are in very close proximity to fabulous dance clubs and lounges. I love how she can be on a clandestine mission and yet be dressed like a drag queen every single week. Will was so cute this week; I just wish I knew what the hell they were doing to his character. (Fans of Bradley Cooper should rent Changing Lanes with Ben Affleck; Brad is not in the movie, but is basically the star of one of the deleted scenes!) And where the hell is Sark?! I was promised a full season of Sark, and we haven't seen him once! (I have this feeling it will be revealed that Sark is Sydney's half-brother or something...) |

Quote: I too was wondering about the expression on mom's face after Sydney walked away. This is definitely a story line I can't wait to see play out. I also think Will is going to be working with Francie and trying to keep her out of trouble. So far I'm not too happy with the way that story is going though - wtf is up with that?

Re: Bravo! | ||||

JeepDrivinChick-- I agree about Will and Francie. I'm tired of Will's moping and Francie's sympathetic looks. I couldn't believe Francie asking Jack about wall colors! Is this what she's been reduced to?
I think they have a good storyline coming up, but I don't want either Francie or Will to become spies. Having them as "regular" people provides a good balance for Syd. But they definitely need SOMETHING interesting to do. I'm interested in seeing in what they're going to do with Will now that he knows about SD-6. He told Sydney he wouldn't ask her any more about it, but I can't believe he'd drop it so quickly. |

I'm wondering how Will and Vaughn end up meeting. How much does Will really know about Vaughn? I can't remember his name ever being mentioned around Will but in the preview it looks as if Will knows the name. That should be interesting.

On top of seeing Sark again -- too much is never enough -- seeing Sydney in a red bodysuit tobagganing down a shaft, Will and Vaughn finally meeting in an elevator, and Jack and Irina/Laura finally confronting each other, I might have just experienced the most satisfying television in weeks.......

Great episode! | ||||
|
Wow, a lot of great stuff happened! Here's my random thoughts:
1. I always had the suspicion Emily was alive, but was that her on the phone or someone just trying to rattle Sloane? Maybe somebody from the Alliance? Maybe Emily will team up with Sark against Sloane! 2. What was the thing that Irina says Jack did to Sydney? I'm thinking Jack had Syd undergo hypnosis to wipe out memories so she wouldn't remember/miss her mother. Syd mentioned tonight that she has gaps in her memories and that after Irina disappeared, everything was "a blur". 3. I LOVED Vaughn's statement to Kendall. When Kendall asked Syd yet again to talk to Irina, Vaughn told Kendall that he and Syd were doing just fine with SD-6 before Irina was ever around and that he'd stand by Syd with whatever she decides. 3. What a cute moment between Jack and Syd when he told her she was a turkey in the play. Nice to see Jack display some sweet paternal emotion. 4. Does anyone else get the weird feeling that Irina knows who's coming through the door before he/she actually comes in? The last two times Syd has visited her, Irina looked almost glad when the doors opened. But when the doors opened for Jack, she looked totally annoyed. You'd think she'd more more annoyed being interrupted during her meditation (Syd's visit) than during her pushups (Jack's visit). 5. Loved Irina's mind games with Syd and Jack tonight. I guess since she spends all day in that cell, she has time to come up with cleverly crafted speeches! |

Great post ls - I'm going to add my thoughts too
1. I think that after Sloane told Jack about what Emily said, he has devised a plan to mess with him and probably had someone call from that inn. 2. I'm wondering the same thing about hypnosis or some sort of brainwashing thing. Of course the way things are going it might be something far more sinister. I can't wait to see this story line play out. 3. That was a great moment! 3. What I found interesting was that she played the only turkey that was spared from the slaughter. That was kind of freaky. 4. Something is definitely up with that. She's doing a hell of a job playing that character. 5. There is definitely more to come with this stuff. I'm wondering what the answer to the question of why she would shoot her daughter is. I can't wait to see more!
