I can't believe Tony Danza's dad made it through to the Academy.

Was it intentional for them to show dismissing a woman who looked like "she played Sandy in 1978" and then putting that old piece of crap Danny through?

Watching the first episode, probably won't bother after this. Just a bad Idol rip-off and I can't stand Billy Bush.

This show made me switch the channel to an infomercial.

Quote: Don't forget that annoying pause by the brit. "You're...rr.....rr.....rr........the one we want..." Ugh, how annoying. Can't they just say you're cut or what not without resorting to that catchphrase every single time? And I didn't see any decent guy to play Danny at all but maybe 2. |

I'll have to check this trainwreck out to see how bad my friend did, or at least her cameo.

This show made me long for the days of Joey Fatone and Debbie Allen.
*sigh* I loves me some Joey Fatone. He's infinityX hotter than Billy Bush, and has much more of a presence. Hey! Let's get Joey to play Danny! Joey's actually *been* on Broadway. |

Total trash. I didn't mind it, though and of course will watch next week. I always hate the whole audition bullshit, so I just want to get where they perform and people vote.

LOVED IT!!
I've been drinking a lot of wine tho. But yeah how the fuck do they put that geriatric "Danny" through?? He was good, but are they really going to cast the whole thing so old that he would fit in? I was a little kid when the movie Grease came out, but I do remember thinking 'why are they all so old and still in high school?' IMO Grease 2 did a better job with age appropriate casting. Even though it sucks. |

I loved it...it was actually much better than I thought it would be.

The sad part is that you can go to any musical theatre university or conservatory with a BFA Musical theatre program and see talent 349023840932 times better than this.
Think of all the American Idols with Musical Theatre training. It is DISMAL. They should have done better publicitiy of auditions. |

...movie supposed to be about HS? So why do they dismiss 17 year olds and keep 42 year olds? Why do they say that 17 year olds look "too young". Have they forgotten how old you are in HS?
Even when the movie came out, the leads, Travolta, Newton-John, Conaway, and especially Channing were way too old. When they had scenes with really young people, they looked like their parents. I guess, on the stage, the make-up will hide a lot of imperfections. But it would seem like a real opportunity to give a really good musical star a start. And, to my horror, I see a re-make of the movie. Edited to add: Who is Billy Bush? He is an annoying little, squinty-eyed twit who reminds me uncomfortably of another annoying little, squinty-eyed twit. |

I liked that pharmaceutical girl...
She probably chose the wrong city to audition at. Chicago seemed lame... |

Totally random sighting in Chicago -- did anyone else see the Aussie from "Who Wants To Be A Soapstar" make the cut? I'm fairly certain it was her...or someone from that darn show anyway!! At first I thought it was Prudence, but then I realized I heard an accent and couldn't recall the girls name, but I definitely recognized her from WWTBASS (nothing like a show abbreviated to include the word ass in it!)

If they aren't going to give any fat girls a chance (I loved the fat girl with the attitude, not sunshine) then just set a fucking weight requirement, or hire ALL the leads, otherwise it's just discrimination

I watched this 50 car interstate pileup of a show. It's addictive awful. The hosts - Billy Bush - nice shirts and by the way - you are no Ryan Seacrest (is that a compliment?). Annoying blonde bimbo Brithish co-host - you are no Cat Deeley (is that a compliment?). Anyway, talent is so not there, at least not yet. I do not see a Danny, Sandy, or Tony in its future!

This was honestly painful. I'll turn it on again once they hit the live shows, because the editing of the auditions leave a lot to be desired (seriously, 1:15 on LA and then 15 on Chicago? GREAT editing there, boys)

Pharmaceutical lady should have made it over "Sandy-look-a-like" girl with the 12-year-old voice.
It really is a crapfest, yet I watch. |
