I met him and he is super cool and nice. I wish he was on! Thanx for the post, I hadn't followed news lately in the mma world. Guess the rumors of Nick Diaz didn't happened. Would have liked to see him on it as well..

Anyway, I'll take Scott Smith as the Middleweight winner. No idea why this guy is even on the show, considering he only has one UFC fight, and that was only a couple of months ago. I also like Travis Lutter's chances. As for the Welterweights, I'll take Matt Serra or Chris Lytle. I'd much rather see Serra drop down to lightweight, but he's still the cream of this crop. I don't want any of these guys getting title shots since the welterweight and middleweight divisions already have a lot of potential title match-ups lined up, but I guess it's always nice to give the champ an easy fight.

That's a good point. Especially welterweights which is just stacked with potential good fights, but one of these guys for a title fight? Not a chance, Hughes and Franklin are on a different level then these guys. I didn't catch the part here where it says they get a titleshot. Who the hell thought up that disaster!?! Dana White??

Posts: 218 (07/04/06 08:40 PM) Registered User Reply Quote More Recent Posts	I'm not sure why Pete Sell and Scott Smith are on "The Comeback". They're young and just getting started! They should have been on season 3. They're better than most of the guys that were just on. None of these guys really have a shot at beating Hughes or Franklin assuming they remain champs. It would be ironic if St. Pierre beats Hughes and he ends up fighting one of the guys he's helped train to get the title shot. I'm going to watch the show because I'm familiar with these guys, there are a lot of interesting characters and many interesting potential match-ups at 170 that should be fun. A Shonie Carter / Matt Serra re-match would be great.

I can't wait to see Tito destroy Ken...I really hope he beats him into retirement. I like the poster who compared Ken to Mr. Burns before...its true, he's old, ugly, and washed up. The Huntington Beach Bad Boy vs a Simpsons character. No question, no contest. When Tito wins...does this mean he goes on to fight Chuck?

Arlovski and Sylvia really should be a hell of a fight. Not to mention Frank Mir is in a must win situation right now. Yves Edwards vs. Joe Stevenson should be a hell of a fight. To answer your question, if Tito beats Ken, and Chuck beats Babalu next month, they will fight on Superbowl Saturday 2007.

Even if Tito is not healthy, he's still got it over Ken. I have no idea who Babalu is or how good he is, but I assume he's not going to win. So when Tito fights Chuck in February, I want tickets...hopefully some nice young man will take me :P

He had a BAD motorcycle accident and after alot of physical therapy he returned to the UFC. In that fight he did not look good, and he was favored to win it. If he loses again, odds are UFC will drop him.

I won't be buying this PPV because the card is really weak. I'm not all that interested in Arlovski/Sylvia 14. Tito/Ken will be a one-sided beatdown. And, other than Hermes Franca back in the UFC, I really couldn't give a damn about any of the other bums on the card. If the rumored UFC 62 card ends up happening, I will definitely buy that one. In addition to Chuck/Babalu, they're rumoring Sherk vs Florian (who doesn't love to see Kenny Florian get beat down?), Loiseau vs Swick, and Terrell vs Marquardt/Silva. That is what a UFC card should look like.

If he had no heart he would have quit then, just say he couldn't see. That guy actually stepped into a cage with screws in his leg. That takes ba**s. His cardio and technique were off, I admit, but he had gone through alot of physical therapy. IMO, he came back too soon; his body was healed, but he was not sharp enough yet.

Everyone I was watching with, including myself, was really hyped about that and then it ends one minute in??? Crappy. End spoiler. I reserved comment on any of the other matches since my boyfriend and I are watching this together/discussing the fights and I'm sure he'll post whatever we talked about later when I give him back his computer :)

Although the fight would be worth the money i just saw my cash going down the drain if either shamrock won or the fight didnt make it past the first round. i read the spoiler about the fight length....but who won???

Tito Ortiz, he landed about 5 or 6 elbow strikes to shamrock on the ground who couldn't block any one of them and Dean ended the fight. This was probably honestly one of the worst, if not the worst UFC PPV this year. The HW fight was a 25 minute feeling out process. However the unintentional highlight of the night was when was Wanderlae came out and said he wanted to "fuck" Chuck Lidell.

In post match interviews, even Dana White admitted the ref probably stopped it a little too early. Pretty much everyone had this attitude. Imho, the refs were soooo concerned about Tito killing Ken that they just stopped the first time Ken got into trouble. There would have been no harm in letting it go a few more seconds, Shamrock has taken way worse than that in his career.
