I dozed off on it (no, not because I was bored - just a loooong day): How was BBCA's editing of it (for those of you who have also seen the UK airing)? (I was majorly peeved at what BBCA did with Christmas Invasion & New Earth & wonder what, if anything, they may have hacked out of TW.)

Dug this up from three pages back purposely cause I watched ep 8 today and thought it was fantastic.
It carries on brilliantly from the first episode. I must say that despite the sometimes school yard level overtones (but I work in an office environment, and know that is not all that off base) there is some enjoyment to me about this show. I've cheated and been watching them via TV Links and Veoh. I love Captain Jack really. But we learn some interesting things about the other characters, their flaws which become parts of the plots of the show. Yes it can be campy (but not as campy as good old Dr. Who) but it can be dark as well. Don't fuck with Jack is all I'll say. He has a pretty face, but won't hesitate to put a bullet in your ass. |

Episode 8 (They Keep Killing Suzie) took like 3 days to download for some reason and then I sat to watch it and there was no sound. So now I am downloading it again from a different site. So annoying. If the DVD's were available in the U.S. I would just buy them. I think I am going to buy the 2005 Series one of Doctor Who just for some more Captain Jack. |

:cry I know. It sounds really cool. And I understand there is some hint of Jack on Ianto action. Now my second download of it is stuck at 65%.
ETA: Fucking brilliant. One of my roommates was just asking about our router because he was having trouble downloading a torrent so I decided to check into what port dealies I had open and I found out that they were all shut up and my firewall was slowing down my download speed. Episode 8 jumped to a much faster download rate and should be ready in less then an hour. Episode 11 which had just started but was stuck at 0 peers is going a bit faster as well. Yay (I suck at technology). Has anyone checked out John Barrowman on the various Brit talk shows he has been on on Youtube? He is so cheeky and full of himself and laughs way too much but it makes me love him all the more.

I downloaded series one (in 5 hours...w00t!) and freaking loved it!
Gwen and Jack rock (Owen creeps me out, Ianto is weird, and Tosh is to wishywashy for my taste). The show really got its footing around episode 5 and was flat out fantastc to the end. Love the fluidity of sexuality on this show! |

It is so funny I was on a UK site and people were talking about this show when it first aired and a lot of them were picking it apart and making fun of the
acting. I wonder if the accents that I love so much disguise bad acting. I always feel like British actors are so superior but maybe if I lived there I
wouldn't.
I ordered Series 1 of Doctor Who from Amazon. I should get it next week (downloading it from BT was proving to be too much of a hassle). I can't wait to see more of Captain Jack and learn more about Doctor Who as well. I saw the final 3 episodes of Series 3 and really liked it. |

Anybody stlll watching? We're nearing the finale. Love that Jack actually falls in love with the guy who name he stole! As we get to the finish, I just
think overall this show never really met its potential but had a few great moments -- and usually involving moments of 'alternative sexuality'.

Last episode on tonight. Its a last-episode-of-Angel episode -- time rifts, UFOs, plagues
Jack: Under different circumstances, an exuberant Roman soldier would be my idea of a perfect morning. PLUS: New season starts very soon -- Jan 26 I believe. Interesting, they're running the episodes just weeks after first airing in BBC. I guess it really is BBC America's biggest hit. I wish they would do this with MI:5/Spooks.
