If you never saw this show, shame on you (and shame on fucking NBC for putting it on Saturday nights and never giving it a chance). One of the best shows in recent years. Kinda like The Wonder Years, but set in the 80s. The box set fucking rules too. Tons of extras, 29 commentaries, audition tapes, and deleted scenes. It's pretty much how all DVD box sets should be done. Let us discuss its brilliance.

I never understood that. I guess that's how the Arrested Development fans are feeling now. (I never got into that one because of scheduling conflicts.) I loved all the browns & rusts & puffy vests they wore. Oh & the ban-lon shirts.

And Paul Feig, went on to write for Arrested Development. See a trend? Smart, funny comedy aimed at smart folks! Meanwhile, dumbasses watch "Skating with Celebrities", reruns of "Dharma and Greg" and "According to Jim" Freaks and Geeks was brilliant, Joe Flaherty as the dad was fantastic, Linda Cardelinni(sp) as the geek gone freak, and the rest of the cast captured the early 80's high school experience. In the early 80's my high school was so small you could be a freak, a geek, a jock and a preppie all at once.

Best decision I ever made, I LOVE this show. I wish I had bought the yearbook edition since I want those 2 extra discs, but what I have will have to do. It truly is something special, though. Slightly unrelated but after going through my F&G dvds ad nauseum, I bought Paul Feig's book, "Superstud" and it's absolutely hilarious.

I was heartbroken when it was cancelled. There's just so many moments where I just crack up and I wonder why and then I realize "Oh yeah, because that exact thing happened to me!" You could say I "know" all the characters. I think if Lindsay and Ken had had a baby it would be me. The day they put it out on DVD was a real A+ for me.

Some of the funniest things ever, and I'm only a year or two younger than the younger set of characters so it really resonated with me. My favorite ep is the one where Sam goes clothes shopping by himself for the first time and Joel from MST3K talks him into a "Parisian nightsuit" (aka grandpa's coveralls), but truly every one was a tiny gem of comedic brilliance.

My favorite moment was Bill finding the real keg and getting drunk while watching Dallas... Freaks and Geeks was my freshman social studies teacher's favorite show. We were her last class of the day, and almost every friday she would get up and tell us if we could rush through the material we could watch an episode at the end of class. We could finish and hour and a half worth of work in 30 minutes.

SO me in jr high and high school. :) I LOVED this show and this DVD set. Pure brilliance.

Nick sends a rose to Lindsay and the card says "I can't wate until tomorrow night." Then he sings Styx's "Lady" to her in the basement. HILARIOUS.
