It's supposed to be Desperate Housewives on an army base. I'll probably check it out.

Showing again at 11 pm Sunday nite, set the dvr.
The unit focuses on the army wives a lot. So meatball, give us a comparison on these shows. |

Not bad so far. It's a little much but that's to be expected.
A generals wife would never be at a social event with a privates wife though. |

I enjoyed it. It was a bit short though. Anyway, it'll get me through the summer.

Steaming pile of turd. I am a military wife (not Army) and it is not like that at all. Most of the wives don't look like that for one. The hospital thing was also quite ridiculous. Who goes to the ER to get a physical for their daughter? Nobody because that wouldn't happen, no matter what your husband's rank. The bar scene with the Lt. Col dancing on the bar, WTF? And the wives who were so nonchalant about cheating on their deployed husbands. I will admit that we do have some wives who do that but the majority of us are faithfully waiting and keeping things together at home. Why not show that?

Quote: That's not exactly the case. Everyone attends the Marine Corps Ball, Private - General. Now the General's wife wouldn't talk to the Private's wife during this event but technically they'd be at the same place. |

Now, tell me who's gonna watch this?

The girl they showed on the commercial looked like a military wife. There were not enough fat women wearing PJ bottoms.
Ok, I guess there are a few balls where there would be a general and a private. They'd be huge though. I did love the rumor mill, that was funny. |

Roxy can't act to save her life. Despite it being a *tad* over the top at times, it actually ain't half bad.
Quote: Nobody goes to the ER to get a physical ever, it's something that wouldn't make sense on Grey's Anatomy either. As for the wives cheating on their husbands - not one of the main characters is, near as I saw. |

Re: Army Wives | ||
Quote: I am married to an army officer and the whole episode was absolutely ridiculous! You are right about the hospital scene, plus, you just don't waltz into a military hospital and get seen right away because your husband is a colonel! If only that were true, I wouldn't be waiting an average of 1 1/2 months for appointments. The bar dancing by a female lieutenant colonel? Not in a MILLION years. The colonel not getting a promotion because the new general's wife started a rumor that he was a racist? NO way. The only realistic thing was the lecture that army installations are called posts not bases, which is true. I would be willing to excuse the fantasy aspects if the writing and acting were any good. They aren't. |

Agreed on the inaccuracys.
A soldier would never be invited to a general officers promotion if it was a formal event like that. A new wife certainly wouldn't have gone (with a fast marriage like that), they wouldn't of planned for her seat and her husband wouldn't of known to buy tickets. And she wouldn't of been invited to an event hosted by a COL, in order for that to happen they would of had to of invited thousands. And the LTC seeing combat. Um, nope (unless she was a pilot). LTC's command from shiny offices. I know girls like the gossip brigade that were that crazy about their gossip, that was hysterical. Where are all the fat women walking around in PJ pants with slippers pushing strollers? |

I'm kinda pissed this is on Lifetime and not HBO or summat. If this were HBO, we SO woulda seen Roxy's hubby's ass during the "honeymoon" scene. Fuck he's hot - possibly the best thing about this show.

Re: Army Wives | ||

You'd think they would have given us that, it is Lifetime TV for women. Us women want to see his butt.
The surragate storyline was so absurd. What woman who is using a surragate would leave the country at all during the pregnancy, and if she did they wouldn't of let the surragate take the babys home (although calling them this and that was pretty funny) |

i can't believe this thread doesnt have a bigger following. i think this show is excellent.
i am officially addicted. i was so sad when whats-her-face's husband was killed this past episode oh and i hate the son, stupid mom-beating bastard. |

Re: Army Wives | ||

He wasn't killed, he's missing.
And that's not how notifications happen. It would have been more authentic if they'd been at her house and the notification team had shown up in their Class A's. I'm addicted too, I'm loving it in spite of it's major innacuracys. |

If you like this show, enjoy and just overlook the ridiculousness of it.
