Glad to see Fox finally made Sunday an all-animation lineup, and that KotH is finally getting a reliable timeslot, if only for half a season.

Congrats to FOX for picking up the 3rd show in 3 years about defense attorneys (Canterbury's Law). I watched Injustice and Justice until they were quickly cancelled. A similar fate probably awaits this one, especially since they have it up against Grey's Anatomy and CSI in January. All the other new stuff looks pretty lame.

How come none of the networks picked up Ghost Chimp M.D.? For crying out loud, we're talking about a ghost chimp with the brain of a doctor who wanders the earth solving mysteries and fighting crime!

Most of next year's new shows look dismal. I'll probably just stick to the renewals of the shows I already watch, but may add the reality shows to my TIVO because I am a reality show addict. Oh and I'll probably check out the Kelsey Grammer show because he's one of my faves.
Why is it that "cavemen" can live in our modern society, wear modern clothes and yet they can't shave their beard or cut their ratty hair?! |

Full-length previews are finally available on ABC.com.
Pushing Daisies FLOORED me. Sam I Am, Miss/Guided, Women's Murder Club, and Dirty Sexy Money all look promising. Carpoolers surprised me some; Cavemen still looks godawful. Big Shots...meh. Only Eli Stone and Cashmere Mafia look like they're not playing trailers at the moment. Go check them out! |

"Thick of It", from ABC, and "Them", from FOX, are reportedly not dead.
'Thick' is being shopped to other interested networks, including NBC, HBO, and Showtime. Showtime was interested in the project from the very beginning, losing a bidding war to ABC. Personally, ABC deserves to die in a fire for passing up "Thick of It" for shit like "Cavemen" and "Carpoolers"; I bet it turned out excellent. It got pretty good test numbers too, and they were dying to work with Mitch Hurwitz, I don't know what went wrong. FOX is reconsidering 'Them' for mid-season. |

I've seen the commercials for Dragon's Den. It looks like a Canadian version of The Apprentice.

I saw a commercial for CTV's fall line up tonight. They pimped Gossip Girls mostly. I might check that out if only for Kristen Bell's voice overs.

Quote: They must have tested it at a university or something...otherwise, if it were Lincoln, Nebraska every response card would have been "I don't get it." ABC has always been the shittiest network for comedies. No surprise they don't know great humor or else they would have put Scrubs on their own schedule way back when. Had The Thick Of It been presented to NBC, we'd see it premiering there at some point in the year. |

Re: 2007-2008 Upfronts | ||

NBC was horrible for comedies this year. I doubt anything totally original would've made even mid-season. The IT Group only made the cut because it's based on a successful British series. All the originals were dumped. They took absolutely no risks this year whatsoever.
