i think the child out of wedlock is common knowledge, it was stillborn. she doesnt discuss it but she doesnt deny it. I have never heard of the coke addiction though.

But trust me, go into a Hermes store in your gym togs.. white, black, whatever and see how you are treated. Unless you are famous and well enough known you will be largely ignored. And yes years ago she claims to have had a stillborn child. She claims to have done crack/coke years ago. All of this of course on her show for whatever purpose that I cannot recall but its certainly not new news. |

Oprah's problem is that she just has such a huge ego that when she wasn't let in it never crossed her mind that something else was going on in the store. She just automatically jumped to the conclusion that she wasn't let in because she was black.
This is the sad reality with so many famous people- they think the world revolves totally and completely around them, and when something doesn't go their way they make a big stink about it. Would Oprah have expected them to shut down the PR event so she could shop at her leisure? It wouldn't surprise me. I think I'll go buy a Hermes scarf this weekend. |

Loved loved loved seeing Jon Stewart on Oprah yesterday. Yes I know it was a rerun, but I missed him the first time he was on. Lurve me some Jon Stewart. He's so real.

This Oprah incident reminds me of the old SCTV skit where Catherine O'Hara played Lola Heatherton, celebrity singer/dancer/narcissist. Lola goes to India to shoot a TV special working with Mother Teresa. She dons a Sisters of Charity habit that is obviously an expensive designer creation, and she's more interested in her camera crew than in Mother Teresa.
In one scene, Lola watches Mother Teresa comfort a dying Indian man on his deathbed. Lola looks at the camera, and says in amazement, "He doesn't recognize me. He doesn't recognize me!" |

Have some sympathy folks Oprah has just had a horrible experience she just found out she's not as famous as she thought she is. The staff at Hermes have said they knew who she was they just didn't give a shit because she's not that big a deal in France. Now we have to listen to a billionaire whine about how she's being discriminated against. If you want to go to Hermes go when the store is open you stupid dyke.
