Okay so I saw that ESPN Classic is airing reruns of American Gladiators today. I don't know if anyone used to watch this, but I did a lot when I was a kid.
It's cheesy as hell but how can you not love the Gladiators names? Lazer, Zap, Nitro, & Blaze to name a few lol...
Anyway, maybe I am the only one who used to watch this craptastic show. ETA: Yay its coming back!

Haha i know.. I was watching today and realized how shitty this show is. I used to think it was so awesome when I was a kid.
The Gladiators are very very cheesy looking. The women all have too much hair spray in their hair and i don't think the tights on the guys could look any gayer. I guarantte American Gladiators turned a whole generation of little boys gay

I used to watch this every Saturday at noon! ESPNC shows it every night at 1am or something like that, but I haven't watched. I don't want to ruin my memories.

Anyways, I love American Gladiators. Viper was the worst though. He sucked at everything. I loved all the gladiators except for Viper. I always thought Diamond was the most scary of the female gladiators. |

We had that show in Finland (with finnish gladiators). It was produced by Renny Harlin (Cliffhanger, Die Hard 2, Deep Blue Sea) the worst director ever.
The best episodes were the"specials" which were in fact episodes of the American Gladiator. They aired some reruns recently, and it was funny because one of the female gladiators (Diamond) had just chopped man's head off and mutilated the corpse, and her boyfriend ate some of it... Talk about bad publicity! Finnish gladiators had names like Kobra, Mohikaani, Terminaattori, Barbaari, Barbie, Sapphire, Teräs (Steel) and Viking. Viking became a senator in our parliament but had some alcohol issues and had to have some time off. This probably doesn't interest anyone, but I though I'd share

Don't worry! It was the finnish "Diamond", Timantti.
The show was so cheesy, that my little brother did always his own commentary: Zebra versus Cobra! That I would have loved to see! |

I used to want to be on this show! I loved the middle seasons but the last few seasons just dragged on. I LOVED Turbo... that bitch was hot! It seemed like the last 2 or 3 seasons he had this angry roid rage thing going on which made him even MORE fuckable. Damn I wonder where he is now.... |

I caught a few minutes of this while flipping through channels. I use to watch this all the time when it was on USA when I was a kid.
I had to laugh at the horrid hair do's! What were these people thinking? We so need a where are they now, American Gladiators show! |

Anyone remember Wesley "Two Scoops" Berry? The one contestant to basically embarass the entire premise...he ran circles around his comptetiors and Gladiators...

He kicked ass on the American version and the International versions they aired as specials. The international versions were kinda cool. I used to LOVE Storm but looking back now, I am sure she was a lesbian! I'm sure Ice loved the vaginer as well. |

LOL. I was staying in a hotel a couple nights ago and got sucked into watching this on ESPN Classic (which I don't have at home) and was like what the hell is this doing on ESPN Classic? I almost started a thread on it though because I loved this shit. I don't remember when it originally aired, but I think it may have come on syndicated after SNL back in the day so I would stay up to watch it then and I know I would watch the reruns during summer vacation on USA.
I wish this was still on so Mike Adamle didn't have to work as a play-by-play guy occasionally doing ESPN+ college basketball games during the year. He's TERRIBLE at it. |

I caught an ep in ESPN Classic the other day.
I used to love this show SO much. My favorite part was Lace. She was so tiny, that eventually, the only thing they would let her do was shoot the tennis balls from the air gun. Anything else, and she would get tackled by the contestants. |
