In 1998, the American Film Institute took a list of 400 movies and gathered votes from over 1500 leaders in the film community (actors, directors, producers, critics, etc.). They announced a list of the 100 greatest American films of all-time.
Nine years have passed and every year they've had a different Top 100 list for a particular genere of films.
To show the ever-changing attitude towards movies, they've added 44 new movies to the list that are eligable and will count down a new list of the Top 100 greatest films ever made.
Tonight at 8 E/P on CBS.
In case anyone's wondering, "Citizen Kane" was #1 last time and most barring a miracle will be again. Still, it'll be interesting to see which of the new films might make the list.
