Sounds very promising actually. The mechanics and setup of the challenges and how the keys can be won or lost has to be engaging. Good structure and good characters will make it a success.

So when no network picks this up will Rob then say he had nothing to do with the show and that it was the producers that manipulated things and made the plane come back?

If you google "tontine" you get a great variety of explanations for its origin.
There is a website www.tontine.org that will allow you to play online - it's not affiliated with the show, but does give you a great view of the concept. Personally, I'd watch - Rob or not, sounds very competitive and interesting. The wikipedia definition also outlines the many different times a tontine has been used/shown on TV/Movies/Books. Good times. |

I remember hearing rumblings that Romber tossed TARAS (remember, they lost in an extremely difficult 'mail sorting' roadblock to Charla and Myrna, AFTER they blew the "spell it" detour thing, both in the same episode
 ) because its completing the race would conflict with some big new project they were working on. At the time I just assumed TARAS was interfering with his lucrative and so classy career as a professional 'celebrity' poker player.Did anyone else hear that? |

This concept has nothing do do with Unan1mous, so I don't know where people get that from. If it is what the site says it is, then all 15 contestants will have a share of the prize to begin with (the keys), and as each one gets eliminated, they get more and more of a share, until someone wins (and gets it all).

Whatever else is going on, this show's got great production values so far -- cool logo, the pimped-out armored car is awesome, they've even got enough $$$ for crew T-shirts, and the website is first-rate.
Oddly, I like Mariano. The guy's approach to the Marquesas -- he was aware they were the first post-9/11 RTV show to film and made a pact with Sean to overplay -- was laudable, he was responsible for laying down the hurt on Twatwaffle in ASS, and whatever else his is, the ffuker is an outstanding TAR racer. Still, I can't deny that there's a side to me silently hoping that he's fronting his own cash on this fiasco. |
