Because you consider it "boring" doesn't make it a valid strategy.

Survivor is a TV show and meant to entertain you, so it's understandable why some would consider strategies such as coattail riding and flying under the radar as invalid. It isn't nearly as fun to watch UTR people than to watch people "fiercely competing."

But, that's the strategy Amber used. And in the end, it beat Rob's strategy. She proved to be the superior player. The goal of the game is to win, and she accomplished it where Rob failed.

As somebody who plays way too many videogames, I can tell you that flying under the radar is often the best strategy in Free For Alls. Let other players kill each other off, then in the end, steal the win. It works in StarCraft, and it can work in Survivor too. It isn't entertaining to watch, but it can still be a smart move.
