Top Design and Top Chef2 have been just mediocre by Bravo's standards, but this is just ripe for a red hot mess. The personalities of hair dressers are deeply untapped and should be really amazing to see over the course of an entire season. Love Anthony's work and he strikes me as someone who will go very far. Tabatha is setting herself up as a long-term biatch. And god help me, I'm in love with the Ryan Phillippe lookalike, Theodore.

Whatshisname Paul Jean Frenchie did something truly bizarre -- but it looked like it took skill and work. The young girl looked like she barely did any work; particularly she didn't integrate her arts and crafts into the hair style. They were just dangling from the back. And the jack in the box hairdoo was simple and silly. No way he should have won. So who is this Tim Gunn guy Rene??? Does he have a speech defect, or is it that he's from Brooklyn? Or both? I guess it is very PC of Bravo to make as a host someone who is deaf and only learned how to speak babytalk. He's a trip. This show has Dramah with an H written all over it. EDIT: Just read p.1 here and see that Rene is Danish, which accounts for his Brooklynese speech defect accent.

Strong personalities and definitely something to have an opinion on I wonder how they'll top this challenge though. If it was hair art then the wrong person was cut. Hers was almost normal hair. And he was by far, the more entertaining personality.

I liked Anthony's design alot. The hat thing was kinda dumb. Did I hear Tabitha say that she wanted to stab one of the other stylists in the previews? YES!

Paul Jean did hair better and besides the secondary drama competition to be Top Queen between himself and that Danish Dip would have been an added bonus. Rene is not Tim Gunn. Tim never competed with his proteges. Rene's ego is clearly in a personal competition with the other players. That Cruella deVille blonde was wonderful. I love hearing the bleep with that wonderful accent and I love the hair she did. I did not understand the raves about the short cut competition. I didn't know that short rats nest/getting out of bed hair that was cut by your kids while you were sleeping was laudable. Paul Jean was my favorite little bitch on the show. Cruella deVille (tabitha?) was a close second for me to root for. I hope that doesn't jinx her for a fast exit. Love this train wreck. Loved the shocked expression on the judges as some of the clown hair walked out. How long do you think it took to pluck all that shit out of the hair and return it to human? EWWWW. Why in hell would even models let people do THAT to their hair? I hope they at least got paid for the gig.

This is an even worse first boot than Daniel Franco and Ken Top Chef 2 had it right it booting the useless young blonde first, not the most Malan-like character. Surprisingly, I liked Rene. He's no Gunn, but he's actually fun to watch unlike Coldickio or anyone on TD.

Why not give an initial "pass" to someone who could give the show buzz? That blah blondie will do nothing for quotes, character, interest during the three or so episodes she lasts. Oh well, still LOVED what I saw, and look forward to hours of guilty fun in the next couple of months.

I also thought the short cuts were mostly horrible, but I usually hate the dresses on PR too. I liked the Mohawk with the feathers..thought she should have won over a box bolted to that woman's head.
