Saw the first three episodes through BLOCKBUSTER. I'm on board.

While there was nothing wrong with it per se...I kept waiting for something to happen. Honestly, if this wasn't a period piece it would have absolutely nothing going for it.

Soooo I watched both episodes on Showtime On Demand and the only thing tht kept me interested was the mildly raunchy sex.
All in all, the series was MEH. It ain't ROME that's for sure. JRM is hardly convincing and to me he looks like a giant pussy in tights. On the other hand, major standouts in the series: The Duke of Buckingham (fuck that guy is HAWT), that Cavill dude (loved to bang him for a night), and Sam O'Neill. |

I watched the second episode today. Honestly, this show feels like the producers did a google search for "Young Henry VIII" and then hodge-podged as many incidents as they could find.
*SPOILERS* When Lady Blount gives birth, I honestly thought she was having a miscarriage because last I'd heard she was just starting her second term. The conclusion to Buckingham's story felt ridiculously rushed. |

They crammed about ten years into that first episode, so a pregnancy prolly lasts a few seconds.

Exactly.
The Tudors is pretty bad, but like I said before, I like the raunchy sex part... but that's it. It's too bad the guy who played the Duke of Bunkingham died so quickly in the series. It all went by so fast... more could have been shown, but whatever. I doubt I'll keep watching the show unless there is nothing else on. Watched the first three episodes. As someone who is obsessed with Tudor times, I catch myself many times throughout the episodes going...."WTF? Margaret doesn't marry the King Of Portugal...it was the King of France!!!!"
The actor who played Buckingham would have made a MUCH better Henry VIII. JRM is ok but he seems more like a spoiled brat rather than a powerful King. It is weird that some of these actors really do look like the person they are playing. eg. the actor who portrays Thomas More, and the actor who played the King of France...that one was eerie. All in all its not bad, just wish they would have stuck to actual events..would be more interesting. |

My bad, here's Henry VIII, MUCH easier to find someone that looks like him! |

Quote: Even if they could, he wouldn't have any acting experience because no other project would ever hire someone that ugly. Quote: Margaret married James IV of Scotland. Mary married Louis XII of France and the cute guy who was doing Buckingham's daughter. Don't know why they're pursuing inaccuracies which don't add much to the drama. Quote: Too true, he's the best part of the show so far. I hope they show that his 'idealism' included burning Protestants at the stake. |
